I would love the have the ability to play an item from my library rather than from the Live TV source if available. example: I browse the live guide and see a tv show or movie that I want to watch. I open the details view and at that point, Emby could check if I have a local copy. If I do, rather than watching it "Live", I'd like to see Emby add a new button, "local play" or whatever, so I can play it from my library instead of the live feed. Or I'd even take it sending me to a pre-run search result page or even just sending me straight to the item's detail page. Anything that could help me quickly find and start that item. Main reasons: 1) starting from beginning of the item 2) have total control of the content if available (diff audio or subs) 3) possibly higher quality version(s) available 4) for tv, adds the ability to possibly binge watch that show Thanks for considering. j

To gauge interest... What if you had the ability to "Forget" a series for the purposes of Next Up display. That is, it would no longer show in Next Up - unless you watched another episode. Sometimes you maybe watch a series for a while and, even though there is more of it or more is made later, maybe it isn't as good as the earlier seasons or maybe you just don't have time for it anymore. So you'd like it to quit showing up in your Next Up list so it is less cluttered and you can focus on the series you are actually watching now. If you start watching it again, the "forget" would be forgotten and it would start to show up in Next Up again.

Go look in your logs for around the time you save the css I suspect you have a permissions issue and emby cant save the css to the ../programdata/config/branding.xml emby maintains the css until a reboot where it will try and read the above file - i would guess it cant

I'm going to add this plus a couple other things as well like doing a trace route and looking at your second/third hops to see if they are non-routable IPs (ie 10.x range). I am going to rewrite that page anyway shortly and will likely change up the diagnostic steps. Likely one page just for diagnostic stuff like this. Should make it easier as it's own page linked from other sections. Better one page for setup and one page for diagnostic steps.

Would be great if can limit the device per users. The simultaneous streams don't prevent to user to login on another device and it will consume the space for the devices limits on Emby Premiere.

Would some kind of music service integration be on the cards, like plex has tidal (I like music videos, but plex handling is piss poor and very restrictive) on an official basis as opposed to people creating work arounds, I ask because I think the majority now use streaming services as opposed to keeping a music library locally (the opposite of habits with films and tv show stuff) and to access everything in 1 program would be quite simply awesome, I know this wouldn't be as simple as coding because there would I assume be a need for some kind d of commercial arrangement? Hi, I have boought myself a XBOX One S, as this console is capable of DTS:X and Dolby Atmos. I have a new Denon AVR-2500H as AVR with Atmos and DTS:X capability. In the XBOX settings, I have enabled 4K and Bitstream as audio-format (I have also activated Dolby Atmos for Home Theater). I play now my test movie: Star Wars Episode VII with Atmos as aduio. I play this with the Emby app, but the server needs to transcode as video and audio codec is not supported. I am out of ideas why this is happening, I don't see a configuration issue as I have enabled HDR, 4K and bitstream everywhere. Is this an Emby bug? Currently the newest 4K movies are not watchable for me ... Logfile attached

What is your current server version? As it would appear you were on 4.4.3.0 and would need the 4.5.0.8 plugin. If updated to 4.5.0.50 then the option is no longer available in 4.5.0.12 plugin.

No storage network. Everything is on the same subnet. The NICs on server and storage are Mellanox ConnectX-2 (using DAC SFP+), with the standard Windows drivers. I do have VLANs but they are for other things, and play no part in this. I wonder if XG switch is working some magic. I'll try connecting the shield to the same switch and see what happens...

Just something to think about do you know which tags emby reads and which it acts on Your tags can be accurate but if you dont have tags emby is looking for then its going to try and guess - this is I suspect with no detailed info might be your problem Maybe upload a problem album, provide a link here and we can see if we get the same issue and suggestion on how you might fix it Oh and getting aggressive is not helping just because you dont like a suggestion provided to help you.

I have just tested this with Caddy2. My test configuration has the reverse proxy directive and nothing else - no extra header specifications or anything. I have no problem with resuming using this setup, so Caddy is passing the play position from the client back to the Emby server correctly. I tested using the browser client on my desktop, but with the external IP of the machine running Caddy2, so it looped back through my router. As I said, I have no experience of Kody, Embycon or CloudFlare, so I hope someone else will be able to step in to speak about them. Paul

Documentation says that some applications can use the direct path, developers should specify what those applications are. I think the Shield does not use the direct path, if not, this problem would not exist.

I doubt that Emby is directly passing the path to the Shield, I think it sends http traffic.

yep its not the network - from my testing yes i also have a 10g network - as its repeatable across several setups now its easy for the devs to test and fix hopefully even with a 70+ mb/s movie thats only 8-10 MB/s - so any nas, single disk, usb disk etc can stream that Why emby passing off the stream directly to the shield - from a NAS or 2012r2 server or any other device causes the shield to pause playback is up to the devs to find out could be the new exo player or the atv client As Luke and Eric are so far silent - is a firm indication that its a bug - as thats their default position in situations like this.

No, nginx, cloudflare or a typical user outside your network still need to be able to get to your server. That requires a true IP on the internet. Once you have a true IP on the internet you need to open up the port for it to use so that it can pass through your router. If you are behind a cgnat you do NOT have a real IP that is directly visible on the Internet so none of this can be done without playing tricks. One way to play a trick and by-pass your ISP is to use a VPN service that offers the ability to do port forwarding. About 1/2 of VPN providers offer this these days. Some VPN services will give you a dedicated IP/Port combo that is always your when you connect to a specific server. <-- This ideally is what you want. If you have a router that allows setting up VPN use that's better than on the Emby Server typically but not required.

If you're able add it then this check should be included in the connectivity knowledge base article for external access. To make sure the router WAN IP address matches the one reported by canyouseeme.org and the Emby dashboard. In the case of a public domain name then it should resolve to the same IP as above. For those using external proxies it's more involved but you have to expect they've figured out the basics.

No need now. I had tried to TeamView in and remote didn't work to his Linux install. Then we tried Anydesk and that did the same thing (no desktop updates). Then we traded pics in PM so I could see router setup, etc and we worked through to figuring out he's behind a cgnat. The cgnat was also confirmed with some google results for his ISP by name. So would need to try to get a static IP, get a public VPN with dedicated IP and port or host Emby outside that ISP network.

Not a new bug. Its been around for ages. You have to let the library scan complete successfully before adding or deleteing any libraries, if not you'll get multiple libraries. When you set up the DVR libraries, set up ONE at a time and click only ONCE!!! If no response do not click again, close the browser, reopen and WAIT for the library scan to COMPLETE. It might take a while to even start. Set up the scond path and allow it to scan again and complete again. For each path you create it can create 3 libraries. The Main, The New TVSHows and The new TV Movies paths, There a 3 seperate threads running in the background, ALL OF THEM trying to create the libraries, thats why you can get 3 for each !!! Sometimes a total of up to 9.... There should be a test to see if it exists, and skip it in the seperate threads, but there doesn't appear to be. If it has still created multiples then remove the others and ALLOW the scan to complete FULLY. It will fix itself then. It just takes a while. @Luke Tagged you Luke just in case you were not aware that every build up to 4.6.0.1 beta still does this
