  1. This will be in Emby Server 4.5. You'll be able to use the controls in the video player to adjust the subtitle offset.

  2. The web app will support it with the server update. Individual app updates will come out as soon as possible after that.

  5. Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)

  6. Also, It would be cool if we have various m3u lists and have the option to choose/assign each m3u list for each user.. Example. In user settings we can choose which library to give them for VOD so this shouldnt be hard enough to do it for live tv too no? USER 1 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 2 - Playlist 3 USER 2 - Playlist 3 USER 3 - Playlist 1 - Playlist 3 Etc etc.... *** Delete this message from another topic I opened because I posted it by accident there

  7. Greetings, Apologies if this idea has been suggested already - I couldn't see it, if it had. Would it be possible to implement an audio only playback mode for video media? I find some situations where I'd like to listen to video content but am not able to watch. Particularly when mobile, I'd rather not stream the video portion with the associated data overhead and just have the audio come through, transcoded in the same way as music would be (i.e., quality subject to the settings I provide in the app). Usage examples could include live television news channels, or music programmes recorded from TV - the visual element is less important and so I might choose to listen whilst out and about, but I don't need the video playback and I'd also want to keep my phone screen off whilst the media continue to play. Thanks!

  9. Having started using LiveTv recordings - one thing i cant find and i think is missing is a notification that x recording failed because of y reason As i only have one dual tuner (at the moment) its quite easy to have more than two recordings of more than one series scheduled to happen in the same time period. Other than i assume something in the logs to note this - there appears to be nothing in Emby to show what and why a recording is missing. Also as the schedule updates as time passes the "historic" conflict is lost - so its not immediately obvious that a recording failed. So could we have a notification in say the dashboard/notifications page or similar? Also a conflict notification before the recordings would be good as well I did a quick search and did not find a similar request - although there might be

  10. Please read this post first. I was wondering if it would be possible to add something that would allow you to skip the intro to shows automatically while binge watching. When watching Netflix it does this for some shows, and im not sure if thats a feature of Netflix itself or a Chrome extension i use called "Flix Assist" but it would be a nice feature to have within Emby as well. and possibly even create a custom timed skip for specific shows

  11. Permission issues are one of the biggest issues we troubleshoot in this section. Thankfully, with the release of FreeNAS 11.3 they've implemented a new featured called the ACL Manager. With this new feature, configuring permissions for your jails has never been easier! I've done up a quick how-to guide and attached. This is only for new jails created in 11.3. Anybody upgrading from an older version of FreeNAS that already has Emby installed will not need to follow this guide as they'd have already configured permissions under the old system. Emby File Permission Setup FreeNAS 11.3.pdf NOTE: To access the ACL in TrueNAS 12.0+ the location has changed slightly. You must go to Storage -> Pools, click the 3 dots beside your pool, select Edit Permissions. This will put you into the ACL Manager. All other steps are the same. I no longer use TrueNAS so I don't have screenshots, but anybody is free to update this document and provide screen shots if needed.

  12. Can you elaborate on your setup. All items are manually ungroupable. There should be a button in Media info of each item. Now if the merge is happening on two separate folders for the show then you will need to disable "Automatically merge series that are spread across multiple folders" on the library. But could have negative effects on shows you want grouped.

  13. Ahh! I see I had to give myself those permissions! Now I am able to delete things. Yes, the TV Series folder is set. So how does Emby decide when you press the "Record" button that what you are recording is a series. I figured the only things that would go into the recorded series folder would be be those that I clicked the "Record Series" button and everything else would go into the default folder. What does go into the default folder?

  16. you dont need to pay.. but because you go through cloudflare your emby server will always think you are outside of your network. there is no easy way to use CF within your network.. Also FYI its bad practice, CF is also a reverse proxy, so when you watch a movie using your phone inside your house where your server is, you are sending that entire video stream out of your network, over the internet, then your mobile device connected to your wifi, is downloading that video stream over the internet to your phone. So when inside your LAN you are using twice the bandwidth to the internet to stream that movie, vs just streaming it directly from the emby server thats on the same network, never hitting the internet. There are some hokey things you can do to tell your router if any request from within the network tries to reach mydomain.com send them to 192.168.x.x instead of looking up the domain name, and sending the request out to the internet server (Cloudflare), you are better off setting up two emby servers in your mobile client.. maybe one called "Local - My server" and one "Remote - My Server" so you just connect to the local one when inside your own lan. if that makes sense.

  18. Wow this has a life of its own now and people are over thinking what is needed and putting road blocks up before we have even tried it - time to do something different for a change and improve things - have you even wondered why some experienced users dont provide help anymore - think about it as it puts more load on you guys - your choice So we are talking about the same thing this is what i mean - From sonarr forum **Sonarr version (exact version)**: **Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows)**: **OS**: **Debug logs**: **Description of issue**: <!--- Additional Information: - Information on the log files is here: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Log-Files - Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings - Post the log file, not a line or two, or just the error from the Logs table - Post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar and link it here - Do not post them directly here. Post in .txt not .doc, .rtf or some other formatted document ---> This could do with some work and needs to be softened and be a bit more verbose - but gives you an idea of what could be done for the OP of a thread - not every thread post Now the sonaar mods get pissy when someone does not follow the above - not suggesting that - as its stupid - but they are not being paid so they can be more aggressive

  24. If we forced users to have to "click through" something to create a new thread, not only would people stop reading whatever they are clicking on but regular users would hate it.

  25. You mean like the huge red letters in the feature request forum telling people to search for their suggestion before posting it? Or maybe the note right under the main server forum that says "Search here first"? Nobody reads anything - especially things that are fixed and always there. Not against trying maybe some things but, in the end, we just need it to be very simple and inviting to ask questions here. Being presented with a form you must fill out with technical information will deter some people from asking for help.

  26. Mine looks like this straight out of the box: #EXTINF:-1 tvg-logo="https://tmsimg.fancybits.co/assets/s62420_ll_h3_ab.png" tvg-name="CCP" group-title="HD",CCP http://localhost:8089/devices/TVE-Spectrum/channels/6011/hls/master.m3u8? So I need to add in the channel number and then change the extension? Any way to batch edit this? I think I'll try with notepad ++ on a copy of the original..

  30. Good day, This reply here now to let you know I am giving high consideration for these suggestions (matters of fact we did similar on some of them) but again when I said "it did not work for us here" that as always we want it simple for new user to just post. I will talk with (Luke and Ebr) and give my thought and how to do it and if we agree of them or some of them I will apply it on the test forum (you have to know this give a lots of work to apply it correctly), then we apply it when we update the forum. Just keep posting your idea and suggestions regarding these matters. My best

  31. An alternative would be to provide the ability for starting a support request right from the server dashboard. This way, the questionnaire could be reduced by adding certain information (and possibly logs) automatically and the support request "form" could be implemented in the server. There are just two show-stopping issues, for which I had refrained from suggesting it so far: Having a feature where Emby server would create a forum post on the user's behalf, would require the user to enter his forum login credentials in the server. This is a security and privacy issue and not everybody would want to do this (like me for example). Meanwhile, this is obsolete as IPS4 supports OAuth (it could be done without the need to enter password inside Emby Server UI) . Currently, Emby logs still contain lots of sensitive information When a user posts a log to the public forums, it could at least be expected that he should know what he's doing. But a feature that collects and posts a users logs automatically - that's not a great thing, to say the least (even when there's a warning) There's a conceptual solution for this, but it requires some work to completion.. Even when a support-request feature from the server dashboards wouldn't find much love, it would still be great to have a feature that automatically bundles and zips all the latest log files together. By 'latest', I mean the latest server run (since the latest start), supporting the procedure: Restart Server >> Reproduce Problem >> Bundle the logs. Currently, we have: 1 server log, 1 hw detection log, 0..n ffmpeg logs In the future, there will be some additional logs in certain cases and requesting them one-by-one would be an additional complication. One way or another - but I think there's really some room for optimization in the future...

  33. Yes, support request forms often ask a for too many things where some do not apply to the problem at all. But I disagree that a set of basic questions wouldn't help to improve clarity. Just think about the most elementary things: Which OS is the server running on? Which hardware? Which server version? (beta or release?) Which client and which client version? Of course, there are very different kinds of problems, and beyond such basics like above, there is surely no on-fits-all solution without ending up with something like you are talking about. But I think that in specific cases it would really make sense to require a few questions to be answered - that are specific to that case. One such case that I'm very familiar with are "Transcoding/Playback Problems". I've always thought about creating a checklist/questionnaire which includes the questions that are most frequently asked and most important. This would help to reduce the amount of interactions and I think that both sides would benefit: less frustration on the user side, because he would not get asked those questions one after another and the case might get to the point much faster, and on our side: less time to work and increased response quality, because it happens quite sometimes that one of us misses to ask a question which would have solved the case in less time. I'm not talking about something like text templates, though, where a user would need to answer all questions by hand. It would have to be real forms offering choices via dropdowns and radio buttons (e.g.: yes, no, other: _____, N/A), where a user could go over quite easily. Though, I don't know whether this would be possible at all..

  39. @arrbee99 - Your high end soundbar has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output for a reason You do not need to even concern yourself with ARC or eARC, and certainly you do not need any HDMI 'splitter' equipment. As has been said above - Simply connect your Nvidia Shield to one of the HDMI INPUT's on the Samsung 850 and connect the HDMI OUTPUT to your TV. Set the Shield to Auto (Sound Settings) - and it will passthrough every HD sound format just fine. You do not need ARC (Audio Return Channel) as you are not passing Audio back, you are receiving it directly from the Shield. The Soundbar is passing the VIDEO to the TV, just like a Receiver would do.

  40. If the exact app "Emby for Android TV" did not show up on the device store, then that is because this box is not compatible with that app. That would be nice but that restriction doesn't exist in the Google system (unless we specified every single specific device).
    1 point
  41. Yea, same issue for me not knowing if that movie has them or not and scrolling rbjtech mentioned. We really do need a better way to handle this from an indicator such as "Extras Present" written up top to maybe a different icon than Trailers. So for example you get the normal Trailer button if it uses external source for Trailers (ie youtube) or switches to "Extras" or "Featurette" button if multiple trailers/extras are present locally. Clicking that button would give you a new page to choose what to play. However easiest method would by to move this section up so it's the top row right under the detail info and first row which would at least partially display on every system. These are essentially "part" of the info for that MOVIE ONLY and would make sense being the first row even before the actors which are always present and everyone knows to scroll down for that info.

  43. It looks like either a mount issue or a permissions issue. What you're seeing when you type could be populated from your browser cache. If you visually scroll through the folder and you can't see anything they are either a) not mounted in the right spot or b) you don't have permission to read the files. Mounting has always been the easy part, permissions have always been more complicated. Fortunately, permissions in 11.3 are now incredibly easy. Check this post out:
