As I'm transitioning from Volumio and Plex to Emby to centralize my usage to one app, the one thing I'm missing the most is gapless playback. This is particulary annoying when listening to albums like "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. I'm experiencing a buffer of about 1 second in between songs, which really ruins the immersion. Would be awesome if this would be implemented in both the Chromecast, and web player.1 point

I am looking to see if a SAML2/OAuth plugin is something others would use. I myself would love this feature to share Emby publicly with family members and friend and worry a little less about insecure passwords that some may use. I personally am a big advocate for security as I work in IT and see how a lack of good security can cause havoc. I love Okta and what it offers. Anyone can sign up and use it for free under 1000 users if you sign up as a Developer. That is just plain awesome. Let's see who else is interested. I am excited to find out! Thanks1 point

I've seen this option on other players, and it has come in handy many times. It's for when you're listening to an album / playlist, and you decide you're done for now, but you want the current song to finish. Sorry if this has been suggested before. I searched, I swear.1 point

I would love the option to store Emby's database in MySQL - I have a setup that serves around 30 people and I feel that there would be real performance gains by using a proper relational backend over SQLite (I'm presuming). On top of this it would make life easier for me when reporting on watched status a cross users.1 point

Hi there I am missing a sort criteria "country" in the movie database. There are several selection filelds, but none being the country. As this information is in the imdb database, it would be great to have Emby sort the movies according per country selected. If this feature does not yet exist (checked Android and Windows player), I would suggest to geht that selectable field as a sort criteria in a later release. If this feature is well hidden, kindly enlighten me... :-) Cheers, Lati1 point

Hey guys, Do MBC has a bookmark feature? Not favorite. Bookmark. Example: If I am watching a TV show series and I like an episode I would like to show my friends, I would like to bookmark it. Yes I know I can add it as a favorite but that's cumbersome. At least to me it is.1 point

Got bored and wanted to get back into making things in photoshop so i decided to make a few apple tv themed library icons to add a bit of colour to my server, it has been awhile since i worked in photoshop but luckily apples designs for their icons are pretty simple and easy to replicate. I have taken some liberties of course for personal preference but overall i think they turned out okay and i had quite a lot of fun making these and have already decided to maybe make more aha hope you guys like them. --------------------------------------------- Here is an Imgur Album if you only want specific Icons otherwise the zip file includes all the files. https://imgur.com/a/bnVq43H --------------------------------------------- library icons.zip - File Contents Anime.png // 1280px x 720px Collections.png // 1280px x 720px Files.png // 1280px x 720px Games.png // 1280px x 720px Live TV.png // 1280px x 720px Movies.png // 1280px x 720px Music.png // 1280px x 720px Photos.png // 1280px x 720px Podcast.png // 1280px x 720px Recorded Movies.png // 1280px x 720px Recorded TV Shows.png // 1280px x 720px TV Shows.png // 1280px x 720px ---------------------------------------------1 point

What does this plugin do? It will sync playback progress of media items between two accounts Why is it useful: Regular user accounts (not admin) may have simpler to key-in passwords (note: not simpler passwords... simpler to key in passwords) for remote controls. If you have an admin account with a password which is extra difficult to key in on remotes, and you would like to keep the admin account's watched status up-to-date, but would consider using a 'non-admin' account to watch media, then you can sync the progress data back to your admin account. This plugin will only sync the playback progress data to an account if the position of the playing media (when stopped), is further along in the runtime then what was already present in the sync'd account. I hope I have explained it well enough. Feel free to check out the Github for this plugin: https://github.com/chefbennyj1/Emby.AccountSync or ask questions. Thanks AccountSync.zip1 point

It would be possible to implement a chat on emby or the opportunity to comment on the film?1 point

HI, I would like to request a feature where, when searching for a movie or tv show, if multiple versions exist in seperate librarys, then the librarys would be labeled. For example if I search for movie YYY I might get two returned search results, but I have no idea if this is the 4k version, the non 4k version etc(unless playing). So a library name on each movie in some way to indicate which library movie YYY is in. thanks1 point

Yea, exactly, it's just a thumbnail that doesn't do anything. It's supposed to be able to play. It's useless if a video can't be played in a slide show.1 point

On tizen I see thumbnail if I turn on screen grabber but can't play video during slideshow.1 point

Any reason why you don't want to use 80 and 443?1 point

Same problem with 1.0.83 i took a video I will upload tomorrow. Like I mentioned in the first post, it’s not a huge problem because normal browsing works fine but just wanted you guys to be aware of it.1 point

Have you tested with browser and wired clients and if so were the results the same? I'm inclined to agree with @cayars that this sounds like a host and/or network issue.1 point

No, it does actually not work in home videos and photos library. That’s what this whole thread is all about!1 point

Hmmm. Checking what's wrong.. more news soon. Note that I have no EX2 device, so developing blindly now.1 point

The issue with this video is that it has a rotation set in the metadata, so players like vlc and modern browsers adjust the aspect ratio based on this rotation flag. https://blog.addpipe.com/mp4-rotation-metadata-in-mobile-video-files/ 22:40:51.129 Stream #0:1(eng): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, smpte170m/bt470bg/smpte170m), 1080x1920, 12983 kb/s, SAR 1:1 DAR 9:16, Level 40, 30.09 fps, 90k tbr, 90k tbn, 180k tbc (default) 22:40:51.129 Metadata: 22:40:51.129 rotate : 270 22:40:51.129 creation_time : 2019-09-07T09:39:01.000000Z 22:40:51.129 handler_name : VideoHandle 22:40:51.129 Side data: 22:40:51.129 displaymatrix: rotation of 90.00 degrees In the Tizen app we don't see this rotation flag, so the rotation to the aspect ratio (9:16 -> 16:9) is not being applied. To correct this, we would need the rotate metadata. @Luke? Does this sound correct? I don't think there's any other way to handle this1 point

No, we don't have control over that unfortunately. In some regions PayPal requires a connection to credit card or bank account.1 point

Hi. That area would be looking for program images (coming from your guide data) but should fall back to the channel primary image if there isn't one. Do your channels have primary images?1 point

I have just successfully installed Media Importer on a VM using `LibreELEC (community): devel-20200826165948-d8a7611 (Generic.x86_64)` and `Emby Media Importer 0.0.9`. The entire setup process was quite elegant once I understood the new workflow for adding sources and realised it is best to avoid HTTPS for now. I really dont have anything but positive feedback to report other than trivialities like the icon in kodi settings for Media Sources is missing. I can see though that the FanArt cache is built on demand. I would like to request an option for all cover art to be pre-cached. In my experience on lower end devices lack of pre caching just results in an extended bad user experience until it is populated. In cases like this it is better to get this out the way once in advance. Obviously some consideration would need to be given to how remote the artwork is (i.e. internet vs local LAN) and if only covers vs actor etc are pre cached. I havent tested it yet but it looks like we also follow the standard Kodi practice of a separate `/userdata/Thumbnails` cache per user. As stated previously this isnt viable for me on AML since the available device storage space is less than the space needed to hold 6 copies of the cache (one for each user). This forces me to use path substitution which immediately makes all my installs officially not supported. Is there any option being considered to work around this? Edit: I just realised that the Kodi thread is far more active than this one for development discussion. I will cross post this there later and use that thread from then on.1 point

I had a feeling you were doing that. In your library config, what address are you using?1 point

Currently the only way for custom genre images is to provide a path for every genre in the database. This example it for Genre type 21, but MusicGenre is type 14 if you want to do the same for MusicGenre. Always maintain a backup copy of the library.db if you are going to poke around. Create a Genre folder in your Emby server metadata folder Create a folder with each genre name Open the database (sqlite database editor of your choice) and go to MediaItems table and filter type column with 21 Apply the path for each genre folder to the correct genre entry in the database (example put %MetadataPath%\Genre\Action path column for Action seen in the name column). Steps will be slightly different if you use a custom metadata path. Hide some column and filtered name to make easier to see. If the folder has a image in it Emby will start using it, if not then when you customize it, it will be saved into that folder. But this will need to be done with every NEW database.1 point

This is possible with Kodi. But with the Emby apps no one other than the Emby developers can influence the GUI behaviour. Ah the test version. It has to be Drama && !Christmas1 point

i posted a few weeks ago on how to modify the database and create genre folders to stop this happening etc should be easy to find - but its not for the novice to try as easy to stuff up your database1 point

Numerous windows updates have gone out recently so those are some pretty big changes. What kind of drive is your Z: drive? My guess is the drive is unreachable at the time you're trying to play.1 point

Should be simple enough as well. I never even looked at a QNAP, but I guess adding scripts to a crontab is the same as any other generic Linux machine. So, if you can SSH into the NAS to get a quick workaround running until pünktchen implements this in the plugin, you can append a check-script to it with the echo command. Check the crontab entries with the crontab -l command for examples of this specific distro...1 point

I've dusted off the project. New stable release v4.4.3.0 is now available at https://bintray.com/beta/#/tfl/wdpksrc/Emby/v4.4.3.0-11?tab=files Enjoy!1 point

So I did get it to work and recognize the series. I had two libraries. #1 movies (/media/) and #2 (/media/TV Shows/). I changed the paths to /media/movies and /media/TV Shows and it works. Evidently having the movies library in the parent directory was ok with one library but confused it when I added the second library. All works well now and it recognizes the series now. Thanks for the help.1 point

I'm having this problem with my TV Show files as well. New install on Windows, version 4.4.3.0. Movies with VIDEO_TS folder structure are fine, but TV shows with VIDEO_TS files don't import properly, exactly as described above. Has there been any progress made on this, or anyone else find a solution?1 point

Not at all. Everything is still split up in the separate libraries. Folder view is rarely used, mainly for holiday videos. Otherwise all of the holidays get mushed together. Playlists and collections for watching Looney Tunes and Cartoons. Regular Cartoon series and TV shows are both tv shows but separate libraries. Plagiarize away1 point

Ok a lead I took the exact thing from the docker hub and run it with docker only (No docker-compose) and it works! docker run -d \ --volume /var/lib/emby:/config \ --volume /mnt/media_sharing:/medias \ --device /dev/dri/renderD128 \ --publish 8096:8096 \ --publish 8920:8920 \ --env UID=0 \ --env GID=0 \ --env GIDLIST=39 \ emby/embyserver:beta I will manage to find a way to make it work with docker-compose.1 point

Great!! I am using Proxmox 5.0, by following this post I could now enable VAAPI transcoding in LXC container. The only difference is /var/lib/lxc/containername/config will be rewrited overtime when it boot. In stead of changing /var/lib/lxc/containername/config. In Proxmox, I have changed the following file /etc/pve/lxc/containername.conf1 point
