  1. I don't think it is said enough as we all have our gripes/complaints when something is not right or does not work - but this really is a great product. I have been a mediabrowser / emby user for what seems like millions of years and the product today for me is near perfect. I was discussing with the kids/wife the other day and they said they have nothing they can think of that will make it any better. I sent out the same to the select few friends and family that access my system (securely via cloudflare and nginx) and they are also happy (except one but that is their connection stability). The latest series delete check is perfect, the green focus on the shield TV is something I didn't really know I needed until it was there. The unification of the clients is fantastic, and even though we only have 4 roku's left in the house (I have given some away), the addition of @speechles to the team has really made the Roku's shine. Very slowly my Roku's are being replaced by a name brand Android TV box (VodafoneTV here in Australia), which is the best bang/buck client here is Oz. I still carry a Roku 4k stick around with me when on holiday for system access from hotels etc - at least I used to do that before we are not allowed to leave anymore! We just don't have official Roku's here in Aus, so none of the other catch up TV apps can be installed so we lose out. My move to Unraid and the Emby docker container a few years ago has also introduced major stability not just to Emby, but to much of my IT solutions at home - It runs 24/7 and never has outages, completely automated - meaning I spend more time in front of the TV than fixing / managing issues. The only Emby thing I am waiting on is the channel sorting and deletion for the TV guide and I may well then consider leaving the beta server release as I cant for the life of me imagine anything else I need. Well done all.

  2. It would be useful if the server (or perhaps clients) could cache most (if not all) content images (posters, backdrops, logos, etc) for movies, TV series and seasons. This would mainly be of benefit when a portion of someone's content is offline but the users would still like to view the content to know what exists. I think caching on the server would be preferable, then all clients could make use of the same cached images. if you think this would be a useful feature, please click the "Like This" button on this post.

  3. when I arrange my movies ,It’s a waste of time when selecting items. I have to click the checkbox One BY One!!!even there is 20000+ items tobe selected, Shift to multi-select,or,One key to SleectAll, please! Similar needs have been raised, but it has not been resolved so far.

  4. I figured this out. I had selected "Restrict to channels marked as favorite" which doesn't work with the cetonproxy driver, so no channels were populating the EPG for the ceton/HDHomeRun tuner, and therefore all recordings were going to the Colossus.

  5. Hi. I apologize. That release I referenced in that post two months ago is actually the one that just finally made it out. It was a grueling process. We will get this fixed. Thanks.

  7. I think I just wasted $5 of my life reading all the whinging in this thread from a bunch of people who got caught for technically stealing a service they knew was expired but kept using it anyway. Who do I speak to about getting that $5 of my life back?

  8. Can the developers please add a feature to verify the integrity of video files? I have over 6,000 movies in my collection and most of them play okay but I just tried to play Casper tonight and it stopped after about 6 minutes. The file itself is corrupt on the hard drive not because of an issue with Emby. I looked online to see if the entire collection can be scanned through to see which files need replacing and found it can be done with ffmpeg. I'm not familiar enough with ffmpeg to know if this works but i found this code on StackExchange by a user called Adrian. find . -regex ".*\.\(avi\|mkv\)" | while read f; do ffmpeg_out=$(ffmpeg -hide_banner -nostdin -v error -i "$f" -f null - 2>&1) [[ $ffmpeg_out ]] && echo -e "==> ERROR in $f\n${ffmpeg_out}" done Would this actually work to find and report corrupted video files? Can this feature please be implemented?

  9. Hey guys, Do MBC has a bookmark feature? Not favorite. Bookmark. Example: If I am watching a TV show series and I like an episode I would like to show my friends, I would like to bookmark it. Yes I know I can add it as a favorite but that's cumbersome. At least to me it is.

  10. The Mult-Select in the Server web app is super-useful (I'm so grateful to those that introduced me to it!). But given that the Server web app has some excellent filtering functions (eg, in my case I make use of filtering by Tags) it would be very handy to have a "Select All" functionality, so that I can filter down to the results I'm looking for and then easily add them to a Collection (or, when eventually we have Bulk Editing abilities, open a Bulk Edit view on all the Selected items). Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  11. In order to help out here, I have almost finished a quick plugin which will calculate the missing items in collections such as TV Shows and list them in an easy to read chart on the plugin configuration page. I have it currently logging to the console, I will just complete the list in html and put a copy of it here on this thread, in hope that it helps sort out what might be missing from peoples collections when data is lost. It will look prettier then this when it is complete

  12. Are you sure it doesn't transcode? Washed colors is a symptom of transcoding. Look the server dashboard while playing the video.

  13. Interesting info! I'll make a check in the plugin then and create the folder if necessary.

  14. I am guessing but I think I know why I think it is working with "enable smart parental controls", I have 44 of 3842 local trailers that have InheritedParentalRatingValue (all have null OfficialRating). Testing some more It would appear those are the only trailers that will play in "enable smart parental controls". So almost 3800 items can not play because they have a 0 value. @Luke would that be correct?

  15. IIRC there is a "flag" isvirtual=False or similar that will ignore missing or virtual episodes(for appearing on the upcoming tab) will also depend if user has "show missing episodes" enabled [edit] IsMissing=False

  16. Is anyone else seeing the transcoding-temp folder delete? On both my and my BFs systems (separate Emby servers) , the plug-in (or Emby?) deletes this folder resulting in a message about "No streams available for playback". So to see if we were on the right track, we were able to play files through Emby that require transcoding, and Emby would recreate this folder, but the Virtual TV plugin does not recreate it when it is missing. This resulted in the error mentioned. When we manually recreate this folder, the streams begin working again. @Luke, in there a maintenance process that deletes this folder? I thought this might be useful information for others, and for pünktchen to know.

  17. I just tried this on the beta server .20 and like H2P can pull back episodes fine using that endpoint Have not got a working stable server to test against Which plugin is causing the error prior to the 500 - looks like its causing the browser to choke and maybe thats related to your problem I assume you have tried a reboot and clearing your browser cache etc etc

  19. @steamhead what i do is this, as i authenticate as an admin user first (so my api key is the user access token not an api key from the api section of the dashboard). use ../emby/users/<user.id>/items/<item.id>?api_key=user.accesstoken that returns the full item json once amended use ..emby/items/<item.id>?api_key=..... to POST it back - and make sure you set the content type as "application/json; charset=utf-8" so it supports unicode characters

  21. TVOS doesn't allow passthrough at all anymore for any app so that's definitely not the reason. nope, I'm with vdatanet. Current and upcoming (german) bluray releases mostly have a dts track. Thanks for participating guys!

  22. This summer I've purchased about 20 blu-rays and most of them are like this. So DTS is still alive. I use MakeMKV don't want to convert anything.

  23. Probably best to ask them how they handle the legal licensing issue unless using passthrough to allow another device that's license to handle the codecs. I've not followed that project at all so I know less then or equal to anyone else here. PERSONAL OPINION ONLY: can't state that enough but I'm not personally worried about DTS much in my setup these days. DTS is kind of like DVD at this point and has been trumped by Dolby, sort of like how Bluray trumped DVD discs. Yes a super simplification but that's just me talking about my own personal media collection and my own personal setup. I don't see a big future for DTS while Dolby Atmos is taking over. (In my personal world anyway). Are you seeing the same thing or thinking the same?

  24. libdca is a free DTS Coherent Acoustics decoder developed by VideoLAN, it's used by ffmpeg and vlc media player. Maybe MrMC people have been able to compile MPV adding support for that library.

  26. Green artifacts while remuxing HEVC + DTS to HEVC + AC3 are not an specific Apple issue, there a lot of issues in theses forums: Keep in mind that HLS is a protocol developed by Apple.

  27. My two cents, I have some Shields in different systems, the only one that supports DTS is the only one that the Shield does DTS passthrough. If I disable DTS passthrough in Android TV app in that system, then DTS is converted in AC3 at server side as expected. When DTS is unsupported, DTS is converted to AC3.

  29. I still have a 110 baud, couple 300s, some 1200 and 2400s, dozen or so 9600, 19200s and about 256 56K/ISDN modems (used to run a large BBS). I have an issue getting rid of some old things also.

  30. Okay, so leave out the language on the ones you want to name something else.. So I'm guessing that this is displaying it as whatever I called it as if that -is- the language title. An 'accidental/unintended feature', if you will. Since there's only specific other terms that are supported, (e.g. forced), anything else should be a single word.. so that's why spaces/underscores don't work.

  31. If you were talking to me garyan2, they did nothing when I tried those. The same problem existed in Kodi and other systems. Kodi patched around it. Only a custom ffmpeg patched for the discontinuity worked for me. There may be a way around it, but, didn't find another one in my few partial days of efforts. There are posts all over the net about Pluto and commercials, Emby or not. Mine is still working.

  32. I wish I still had photos of my old setup. Ironically, I still have one 1U rack server in it's original box. But my wife has been patient enough with me and my computer things (she calls it junk, I almost filed for divorce). I'm having a hard enough time getting rid of old 56k modems, ok, I have a problem...

  33. Sure, here they are: https://techzyon.com/epg/plutotv.m3u https://techzyon.com/epg/plutotv_guide.xml Updated many times a day, at least the guide is as Pluto only gives a partial day guide.

  34. I've also made a single video file of a concert and manually created chapter markers for each song. This doesn't enable me to create a playlist, but it does enable fairly easy switching to a specific song. Paul

  35. Thanks for your help! For anyone wondering, it's best to add style="display:none;" to each of the selectContainer divs, as removing them outright causes it to be a little glitchy.

  37. Hi. We're still looking into it but there is a difference between straight FLAC audio files and FLAC audio as a stream within a video container so we have to investigate that. Thanks.

  39. We're going to be revamping our streaming from m3u sources in the near future to not use ffmpeg (when possible), so this should be a moot point at that time.

  40. emby still reads and saves the "name" field in the database emby just don't want us to see these values we are waiting over a year for that simple option https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/34573-audio-and-subtitle-track-labels-for-mkv-containers

  41. Just been looking into this myself. If you name them - moviename.AnythingYouLike1.forced.srt moviename.AnythingYouLike2.srt moviename.AnythingYouLike3.srt moviename.AnythingYouLike4.srt moviename.AnythingYouLike5.srt then you'll get them listed as AnythingYouLike1 (Forced SRT) AnythingYouLike2 (SRT) AnythingYouLike3 (SRT) AnythingYouLike4 (SRT) AnythingYouLike5 (SRT) It doesn't seem to care what they are named inbetween the movie name. and the .SRT extension (*), you do not need to stick to languages . If you add a .forced. then that obviously becomes the forced subtitle. (*) It ignores spaces and underscores, but '-' appears to works fine. The WIKI needs to be updated with this info, as I've seen a few feature requests for this to be fixed... Note - This only works for EXTERNAL subs - internal subs (in MKV etc) still only reads the language field, it still does not read the 'name' field - which makes multi same language subs a nightmare as you don't know what you are selecting ..

  42. On the subject of potential additional functionality for the excellent Multi-Select feature, in addition to funwithmedia's suggestion for a Select All function, I would like to throw my vote in for a Shift-Click or Drag-Click type function for selecting multiple items, in the style of Windows Explorer. At the moment, the usability of Multi-Select is somewhat limited (at least, for me) by the fact that each item still has to have its check-box individually checked - unless my search skills have utterly failed me, and there is already a way to do this, in which case I apologize for wasting everyone's time. My ideal implementation would be something along the lines of this: The shift-key doesn't necessarily have to be involved, obviously, I just chose that combination based on its use to achieve the same effect in Windows. But the basic functionality of being able to quickly select a continuous series of items would be very useful (As would the Select-All function suggested by funwithmedia). Thanks for taking the time to read my post, as well as for your consideration.
