Hello, I think it would be great to have a HA option to have 2 emby server totally redundancy. What do you think about that?1 point

Hello. Would be great to be able to adjust subitiles delay in Emby Theatre or Web client like we can in VLC with "H" and "J" shortcuts (up and down). Thanks !1 point

Problem Solved! After the last test of one of the recordings, I noticed that I got an USB disconnected error on the ShieldTV. Since I have an older 128GB USB thumb drive as additional storage, the Emby Server and Media servers were located in the USB. I replaced the USB drive, did a clean install and now all the feeds from the HD Homerun device are streaming without any problems. I want to thank you all for your help and quick responses. I was just planning on doing Emby premium for this month to determine if it was going to replace Plex with it but after the awesome support I got in this group I am definitely staying with Emby. Thanks again.1 point

Hi. The server configuration backup plug-in can do that for you. It is in the catalog. Thanks.1 point

@Luke I've been testing this and even without the NFO plugin loaded on the system NFO files are being generated in the DVR recording folder. There does not seem to be any way to turn this off. The NFO file is written at the same time the .TS file is generated. The NFO setting in Recording library does not control this at all obviously with the NFO files still being created without the NFO plugin installed.1 point

OK now here is something interesting. I TeamViewed in and took a look. Besides the "weird" path thing everything looked good. However with NFO turned off and even changing where recordings went to (I created new folder off the root), the NFO appeared. So on my system I tested by kicking off a brand new recording and got the NFO generated at the start of recording and I have NFO turned off for my Recording Library. I removed the NFO plugin from my system, restarted and did a recording and the NFO file is again created at the start of recording. In about a half hour I'll know if the NFO is removed when the recording is complete but the NFO seems to get written regardless if the NFO plugin is installed or not!1 point

Are the ones that have a problem interlaced (1080) while the ones that don't, aren't (720)? If so, you can try leaving the direct stream option on and checking the option under playback to De-interlace HD items on the server.1 point

I'm honestly not sure what that specific set of option values will produce as you've indicated a custom location for both default and then JUST series - which, I guess, is defacto meaning that the default will be for movies... I'd try taking the path you have in the default field and moving it to the movie field. Then setup libraries with the proper type for those two locations (movies and series) and set options accordingly.1 point

The folder approach as described by Deathsquirrel is the best balance of effort and function. It the one I use1 point

So I went into Libraries and did find that the Collections, TV and Movies libraries were there, but the TV and Movie libraries had the wrong drive letters (possibly had changed after Windows re-install?). So I changed those to what they were supposed to be and did a metadata refresh. After library scans/metadata refresh it seems to be all there with playstates and resumes saved (phew). So just needed to change view/home settings for Theater, which I guess doesn't back up. The one thing that I still need is to get our collections back, it seemed to have created the library for it, but because it cuts off the location I don't know if it's correct, and when I tried to add a new library for it, I was unsure on how to create it (the type etc.) Can you help? There are a few files in the location that I found for the collections folder, but when looking at the xml file it didn't have anything in it. I looked at the backup for collections and it had the same files.1 point

Did your public IP address change due to the router downtime? You need to verify that your domain is resolving the the correct WAN IP address. nslookup "your domain" If it doesn't resolve to the current WAN IP then it needs to be updated.1 point

If you are using hardware acceleration turn it off and restart server and retry.1 point

I want to pile on here as well. The change to the collection display is unusable. It worked good before so why not just put it back the way it was.1 point

Sounds like a possible addition to the playback reporting plug-in @TeamB1 point

Hello everyone! I used to have a python script that would add accounts with selenium. It worked well enough, but that was broken by an emby update. Current events have given me lots of free time and I'm kinda bored, so I decided to rewrite my script using python requests and the emby api. This script takes input from a text file in the format <server username>, <emby connect username> <server username>, <emby connect username> <server username>, <emby connect username> and creates users on an emby server with the username <server username> and attempts to link it to <emby connect username>. The script also configures a bunch of settings for the new user. A list of settings that are configured by the script and more details can be found in the readme in the github repo. Here it is: https://github.com/stummyhurt/auto-emby-accounts I'd love to hear any thoughts!1 point

Just like the title and my question recently, having this option would be great from a privacy standpoint. You can see this feature in the basic Synology Media server where you can specify witch devices are allowed to view your DLNA server. Hope you guys want it too Thanks!1 point
