  1. Often times when I see "Reason for transcodng: Media bitrate exceeds limit." in the info I wonder, what kind of internet connection do they have? I know this can cover multiple scenarios like bandwidth limit set for user, server, client side quality setting, as well as AUTO bandwidth detection... Can you PLEASE add to the dashboard the returned client bandwidth capabilities? The value you are getting from the client that tells emby its bandwidth abilities. While you are at it tighten up the spaces between lines on the transcode items, and align the results to the right instead of center.. MAYBE SOMETHING LIKE THIS :

  2. I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

  3. In the Live TV settings you can set Recording Paths for movies and series, but there are some occasions where it would be handy to have a custom recording path set when you schedule a recording. For example, I have separate folders and libraries for Kids Movies and Kids TV Shows as well as my regular Movies and TV Shows folder. If I schedule something for the kids, when I'm scheduling the recording I'd like to have an option to automatically send that recording to the Kids Movies folder. I'm imagining that being in the settings menu, when looking at the recording through the guide.

  4. It would be cool to allow Emby server users to comment what they think about a media piece. This could be shown on the top portion of a media info's page. Perhaps right under description, to encourage more user engagement.

  5. 23 was the default, so that means you previously customized it.

  9. When playing music using Samsung Tizen app. Do the artist backdrop images rotate in the background (or should they)? Mine do not. I believe they do rotate on all of my other clients (Android TV, Roku Theater and Web app). But I notice it does not on Samsung Tizen. Just checking if all others are the same?

  10. This is me when it comes to handling electronics (100% genuine portrait of me) Just kidding, I guess I am more overcautious when it comes to hardware, however, ill go with what you have said and give it a try now.

  11. Hi. The button will be added to the toolbar but you can still do this using the play button on your remote from the previous screen. Thanks.

/Serie 2 /Saison 1 Ep. 1 Ep. 2 ...

  15. Yes, you need to run this task to make sure all your videos have been processed for thumbnails. I'm not quite sure what you want me to show you here. The default settings for a library should be the same for everyone, with thumbnail images off by default. Thumbnail image extraction must be enabled by turning the feature on in the library settings and by selecting an appropriate interval. Once done, the thumbnail extraction task will need to be run to create the thumbnails, unless you go into the advanced settings of the library and tell it to do so automatically when adding new media.

  18. The world has changed over the past 1- 1.5 years. 2 FA is now required in Emby, and I'd like them to use the authenticator apps such as Microsoft Authenticator rather than SMS. Also, the option to disable the remote login page (web) BUT keep the ability to configure the URL and credentials when in an Emby application and using HTTPS. This stops casual web browsing to a domain and see the emby login web page and then setup a challenge for a script kiddie.

  19. This thread is the very reason why I previously advocated that the Feature Requests needed to be tracked and prioritized into a true feature list. It's just good engineering practice. (1) Make a total list of requests; (2) prioritize based on immediate need vs nice to haves; (3) keep the list running based on what is currently being worked vs what is still in the upcoming stage; (4) make the list visible to all on where each request item is in the development cycle so that all can see and then they don't have to keep asking these questions (they can readily see what has already been requested) and you might cut down on some duplicate requests; (5) check off accomplishments as you go so that all can compare what has been requested vs what has been implemented. (6) major fixes and problems with current capabilities get priority interrupt over current development and future nice to haves. In my world its called the IMS & IMP (integrated master schedule, integrated master plan) but at its heart is just a simple prioritized "to do" list that can be checked off when things are "done". Otherwise you're just running an ad-hoc railroad and no one knows what time the trains get to any of the stations. It probably cuts down on having to give a lot of canned responses to "yes it's planned for the future". They can be directed to the list and see where it is in the future and probably stop bugging you about when. Just a suggestion. I myself have resigned to not worrying any more about when things are coming since the things I'm more concerned about seem to be a good distance into the future. But to give yourselves some well deserved peace at night (meaning sleep) as developers it might help to give folks a notional plan just to let them know where they stand in the pecking order. For me personally, the things that Emby can't currently deliver, I am having to use other platforms to augment. When and until Emby get's them I'll continue that way. I'll certainly be glad when Emby gets them but I can't deny myself using them knowing that they exist waiting on Emby to implement. Again I'm certainly pulling for you guys because I like the direction that you're going but for my personal use full functionality is not quite there yet. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work. We're all pulling for you. Thank you

  20. A major face-lift for the Roku app - bringing it more in line with the other apps - is on its way to your Roku device. 4.0 brings the familiar "tab" style interface to this app. Allowing you to easily move between views in a library and set your default landing page in each of them. To set the default landing tab, simply enter a library and select the "cog" wheel at the top (or use the * button on your remote). In addition to the new library interface, the music player has been updated to the new view seen in the other apps as well. We hope you enjoy these long-awaited updates for our Roku app. Your device should update automatically when available. View the full article

  23. In a short future? Or just a shorter future than we have already had since this topic first came up like 3-4 years ago? I would LOVE to see tabbed channel groupings as the first part of the Live TV revamp that has been promised for so very, very long. Krs Mark A 'like' is always appreciated!

  24. Support for channel groups in the m3u file tvg-groups = sport tvg-groups = children tvg-groups = documentaries I see that at the moment the support is only for • tvg-name - Channel name • tvg-id - unique channel ID • tvg-chno - channel number • tvg-shift - Number of hours to change the epg (used only as needed)

  25. One step better, show all, and lose the "more" button.

  26. I have a similar but different question. When in the details about an actor, how can I get Emby to display all movies that the actor was in without having to use the (not obvious) "More" button. Right now we only see ten movies at a time. I would think we could increase that by at least double before using the "More" button function.

  27. It's always possible for the future, but a lot of work because it's not just something we can throw into the server and have it just work for all apps. It's something every app would have to be aware of, therefore it comes with a pretty high cost.

  28. That would be a great security enhancement!
