I do NOT recommend the Shield TV unless everything in your setup is the latest and greatest. I have an older receiver and my TV is passing through just simple stereo and on some newer files the audio just will not play correctly. It has reached the point where I am about to give up on getting audio to play correctly on my setup through my Shield. Everything works fine on my Rokus and my Fires and on my computers. It is only the Shield that is screwed up. I think your best bet would be a Fire 4K or a Roku Ultra. I use Rokus 95% of the time but I do not use or need 4K or advanced audio. My Roku Ultra is as close to flawless for my use as it gets.

As soon as they "promise" something and there is a hiccup everyone is in an uproar saying they don't come through. I would agree though a list of popular feature requests in one place with polls for each would be great. There doesn't need to be about info from the emby team on what's being done. But it's a way for the user to have a single place where we can show our interest in requests instead of digging through a bunch of threads. And it's an easy way for the emby team to see what people are asking for with a quick glance. Win win.

I am switching over from a Win7 box running MBC to Chromecast dongles. With the Win7 box I had a HDMI to Cat6 setup that allowed me to stream to up to 4 displays/TVs simultaneously. It was great while it lasted, but involved stapling cables to the ceiling to run it from room to room - plus it has borked Can there be an option to multi-cast to several receivers at once? i.e. simultaneously play to Chromecast dongles in my office and living room and kitchen simultaneously so i can walk from room to room without stopping and restarting the movie or show all the time? I realize that bandwidth could POTENTIALLY be an issue, but i have a fill gigabit network and a multi-port NAS so that really is the least of my worries... Thank you!

I'd like to see a feature where on a piece of content there was a button to report a playback error or such. I have a lot of content that I haven't watched that friends have requested - if there was a simple button they could click that pings me a message letting me know there's an issue with the file that'd be great.

I am a new user to Emby. I am currently recording with Emby, but watching from another app that honors edl files that I am manually creating after the recording is done. Are there any plans to add comskip EDL file support in the future, or integrated commercial skipping? I actually stream the recordings from offsite, so skipping commercials manually is a pain.

Please make collections independent of it’s path so relocating or renaming media in folder structures doesn’t affect collections and its items. I often update media files, it’s folder name or/and folder structure for various reasons and every time I do that those items affected disappears from collections I put them in.

Okay, so then the issue at this point is that something in your setup cannot handle the throughput of these very high bitrate items. The Shield pro is probably the only device that can handle those but you have to have all other components capable of handling the throughput as well.

couple of issues still with tapatalk on ios if i try and open the web view of any post it opens the forum home page links to other posts do not work. it says you do not have permission to do that, or something to that effect both worked fine before the upgrade

It something like that, well that the best it can be done at the moment on this.

I think the most of us would be happy to know what will come with the next beta. According to a post of Luke you guys are working on improving Live TV management for this beta round. What's the harm telling us that?! Are you afraid others may copy that within the beta cycle?

I think it'd be a great feature to have a "Report Issue" button or dropdown option on media. This way a user could could report problems like the media not working or subtitles being wrong and eliminate needing third party tools. This could even be a plugin.

I think the UI is mostly perfect. The Settings page is perfectly laid out and easy to navigate. When viewing a category I don't think you can make it simpler and easier to navigate and it looks clean. Where I do think the UI could improve is the Home screen. Something about it just doesn't feel right. Maybe a more dynamic user experience to make it feel more personal to them. So allowing the user to select different layout templates that "re-arrange" the Home screen in a way they would prefer (Almost like Kodi's Themes). Although I know something like this would be a HUGE change that will take a very very long time to achieve. Two other things I wanted to mention is that I have noticed that: - In Firefox under security, if you check "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed", you will be frustrated to hell. It resets every single users theme back to black and even it you change it, it will reset when you close the browser. So at the moment, you cannot clear cookies/site data at all if hosting an Emby server if you care about your themes. - I've been following the thread on the Actor View function as I am also starting to get interest in this. What I have noticed is that when I click on a movie or TV show, not all the actors load properly, some stay blank. I either then have to click refresh metadata (replace all images) to fix it, or I must go under edit images and then on the primary image (which shows the image) click delete, it doesn't remove the image it keeps it there, and when you go back and refresh the page, the image then shows. So to find all these "broken link?" actors, I have to go into every single movie and TV episode to try and find these actors, which can be painfully long. So if an actor screen does not happen, at least have a button in the settings even just to re-scan and fix actor paths.

voy a probar, muchas gracias. Bueno, por fin he conseguido ordenar la biblioteca en orden alfabético. Como comenta Happy2Play, hay que editar el archivo system.xml, que se encuentra en C:\Users\"VUESTRO USUARIO"\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config Hay que borrar todo lo que hay dentro de las lineas y dejarlo asi: <SortRemoveWords> </SortRemoveWords> A continuación reiniciamos el server ,si es que estaba encendido. Después hay que ir a biblioteca y en cada biblioteca que tengáis en mi caso tengo (Series, Peliculas y Colecciones) solo he tenido que hacerlo en Series y Peliculas, hay que pasar el cursor por unas de las bibliotecas y salen 3 puntitos, clicar en la opción "Actualizar Metadatos" despues que esté marcada la opción "REMPLAZAR TODOS LOS METADATOS". No hace falta marcar la opción de "REMPLAZAR IMAGENES EXISTENTES" y por ultimo solo hay que dar a "refrescar". Tardará un poco, dependiendo de lo extensa que sea la biblioteca. Espero os ayude. It's the last thing I'm waiting on to be able to use this for all my media needs. I already have a subscription, so it's not like I would be a new customer, but I have to use a different app to actually watch the recorded TV, because my wife LOVES the auto commercial skipping. I record in Emby, but playback in a different media center. One thing I would ask, is that when you do implement, be sure to mark the skipped selection on the playback time line. Usually done in a different color. Also, it should only skip the FIRST time it hits a cut point...that way, if the commercial detection is wrong (which happens), you can skip back and it will not skip the next time it hits that specific cut point, then resume as normal for the next marked section.

Another vote. If or when you do this, please the features as present in mplayer edl files. https://kodi.wiki/view/Edit_decision_list I am especially interested in skipping audio (profanity), so, not just commercial skipping. Not asking you guys to create the file, just honor an already created file.

Hey, Is there any way to show all the episodes of a show after selecting the show? Right now it's like this: select the show -> select the season -> select the episode. This is great for adults that know exactly in what season is a specific episode, but it's a nightmare for kids. Basically they are selecting the episode based on its thumbnail, so they are always nagging me "where's that episode, it's not here!". Hosting Emby on unRAID and watching on different devices (LG, iDevices, etc). Thanks!

السلام عليكم أخوي @Abobader أرجو إبلاغ الإدارة بأنه توجد مشكلة في برنامج التثبيت الخاص بويندوز حيث أنه لايمكني بدأ التثبيت أبداً لإمبي سيرفر وإمبي ثيتر الخاص بويندوز 7 و8و10 وحل المشكله لابد أني أغير التاريخ من الهجري إلى التاريخ الميلادي الانجليزي وبعدها يشتغل التثبيت بدون مشاكل فأرجو حل المشكلة مشكور مقدماً
