flakie 11
Updated to DSM7 and latest Emby. All running with no issues on LAN. But https is not available remotely. Okay in the LAN as dont needd https there but cannot access externally now. Has the option to specify Local ports been removed as I can only set External ones? Is there any other possible reason for no https externally? Edited July 7, 2021 by flakie
Carlo 4330
hi, https/SSL will only be available to setup if you have a cert specified. If you had this previously setup, please review those settings as it's possible depending on the location you have the certs stored that the new DSM 7 version couldn't access them. If the above is of no help, let us know and we'll look at other possibilities.
flakie 11
Thanks. Yes was all working just before the DSM7 update. The pfx is in the default certificate folder: /usr/syno/etc/certificate/system/default Checking permissions now. So is the option to specify local ports removed now or is this only there once https is working?
flakie 11
I had to renew the certificate for the domain. Noticed now the certs that are created are prefixed with RSA- and ECC- and a fullchain.pem (2 with the prefixes) instead of chain.pem. Had to adjust the script for the new file names (used the rsa version) Thinking this threw me and maybe I forgot to restart Emby. Just done that and it is all working now. Noticed the option to specify the local ports is still missing so assume this is how it is now?
Carlo 4330
Glad you got the cert working. No the local ports are still there. Nothing changed in this regard. Can you show us what you see on the Network page?

Carlo 4330
That is strange. Do you get the same thing in a different browser? Have you restarted the server?
Solution Luke 37155 Posted July 8, 2021 Solution Share Posted July 8, 2021 Local port options are hidden because we have to specify the port numbers in the package manifest in order for the server to be authorized to use them. We can't promise that any other ports will work and it may require workarounds on your part in order to get them to work. But they are only hidden, so if you must change them, you can still do so by editing the server config file. But you may need to research what is required to get it to work after doing so. This applies to not only Synology but some other NAS platforms where we are required to indicate the required port numbers up front at the time of installation, in the package manifest.

I was thinking they must be hidden deliberately as it all looked too neat for it to be a bug/error. No need for me to change them. Just wanted to verify how they were set when I had the https issue, which is now resolved. Edited July 8, 2021 by flakie
Carlo 4330
Thanks Luke, didn't even realize this was different on Synology until I just looked.
