Djidje 1
Hello, I did the update of Emby on 4.6.4 after the update of DSM 7.0. Something went wrong, and it Timed Out since today. I tried a few things from this : I did these steps : remove emby_pkg user and video group - enable ssh in Synology settings - connect with Putty to Synology, login with admin user and get root rights with: sudo -i - copy files from old Emby share to new data location: cp -r /volume1/Emby /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer - adjust owner from copied files: chown -R emby:emby /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer - close putty I tried to erase with putty, so the folder /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer is deleted before trying to reinstall EmbyServer. The only thing remaining I can still found is the user in the internal system. I also deleted the Shared Folder Emby. I tried to uninstall everything and reinstall Emby from scratch, and I still got the timeout issue. What else can I try? Many thanks Edited July 5, 2021 by Djidje
Carlo 4330
It's hard to know by this as any other steps could have been undone or done slightly different but overall what you said looks correct. It does sound like you didn't finish setting permissions. What version of Emby Server were you running on DSM 6?
Djidje 1
I can’t remember the version I had so it should be the last available in automatic update. i just want to get back to a new fresh and clean restart but impossible at the moment. Carlo 4330
If you just want to start over you can uninstall Emby Server and then SSH into the NAS and remove the installation folder. Just view your dashboard PATH section box for location before you uninstall Emby Server. You could then install again fresh.
Djidje 1
@cayars do you mean /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer ? Or there are other folders I missed?
Carlo 4330
Yes that would be it.
Djidje 1
That's the one I remove SSH. But it is still not working. I just launched app.emby.media and saw 2 servers. I deleted them also. I have reinstalled the server but still can't access. Still in timeout. Through the app, it says it can't connect and check if it is started (which seems to be ok in DSM). Should I try to create back the emby_pkg user and video group? Edited July 6, 2021 by Djidje

Carlo 4330
Did a remote in earlier with @Djidje cleared things and reinstalled but the big culprit was Synology Firewall. Should be good now.
