Speck13 0
I use the MB channel on my Roku 3 to view my content. Recently, MB will completely lose its connection after a period of time; even when in the middle of watching something. I have to go all the way down into the basement, close the MB application, and re-open it. This resolves the problem for about 30-60 minutes on average. I wish there was a permanent fix for this. http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/9079-losing-connection-to-server-when-its-been-connected-for-awhile/ A user in the thread above seems to have resolved the problem by uninstalling MB from his PC completely, reinstalling and re-adding the directories. However, until then, restarting the server from my the MB iPhone app would be a very convenient way to handle these connection issues rather than having to go to my PC. Can this be done? Thank you, Speck
psykix 97
Why not just use iOS Safari to open the web dashboard and restart the server from there?
darwindeeds 356
I agree that a restart button will be handy, we can add this in the future update.
psykix 97
I'm not convinced that an iOS client needs to have that ability, but if it has to be there then hopefully you lock it down to admin accounts - don't want my kids restarting the server from their iPads!
Luke 37099
we'll get this issue resolved with the server, so let's not turn it into the iphone app's problem, although if he wants to add management functions like this then by all means. but back to what others said - you do know that the web client & dashboard can be used from any device, right? the layout is mobile friendly and works quite well. Ghostm 74
I agree that a restart button will be handy, we can add this in the future update. WOL to Alot of votes for it on user voice, oddly plex does not include it either and xbmc ios app does which is not a server client setup (although it also can basically act as a power on button for us htpc users which was also handy for me), its very handy way to wake servers or htpc clients, the plex ios section has been requesting this for a few years now and i could never figure out why they didnt include it. All I had to do was enter my mac address for the xbmc app, seemed relatively simple. I seen a request for it in windows phone app area as well, it would be nice if the big 3 (windows phone, android, ios) all could include it. Danee 57
If WOL is integrated people will start to ask why it won't work over the internet. WOL is a local only solution, it can be made to work over the internet, but not by everyone.
Ghostm 74
I dont know if thats a good reason not to add it though, many people do need and want to take advantage of it given all the votes at user voice, request in the windows phone forum. Their is countless pages requesting it on plex, its a feature some people can definitely use. I guess its a trade off people asking why it wont work beyond a local connection, or people asking/voting/requesting it be added. You could even add a blurb when you enter your mac address that it only works over your home network. Or make it a hidden feature you need to enable in settings.
