MattDrayton 0
Guest
If you choose to get a domain name, look and see if they have a Dynamic Update Client App. It makes the update easy and automated.

Carlo 4330
So right now what @Mibok mentioned may be the best route. If your router allows for updating a DDNS (dynamic DNS) entry then you can give you uses a domain to use such as cayars.no-ip.com. You then setup your route to update no-ip.com any time your IP changes. Many routers support nearly a dozen different DDNS systems. If you don't want to do this then what Luke mentioned is ideal. Setup each remote user with an Emby Connect username. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160340-emby-connect So using Emby Connect doesn't require you to setup DDNS but does require each user to create an Emby Connect account and it requires YOU the admin to add this Emby Connect user to the user setup on your system. Which is easier? Depends on your router and technical know how and likely number of users you have. For example if you have a half dozen users EC is easier but if you have 20+ users then DDNS might be better/easier long term. If you like to chat offline about this for your personal system or get some remote help to setup DDNS send me a PM and I can assist. One way or another I can help you get setup to make sure users can get to your system regardless of how often your IP changes. Carlo
