primeflix 1
Hi It doesn't appear that you can watch a programme live and recorded it at the same time using IPTV - is that correct? For example, if I set a recording and then one of my users plays that channel live, the recording stops. Given emby buffers the streams I assumed this wouldn't be a problem. TIA Edit: So after testing, it seems that if there is a recording ongoing and that channel is played by direct streaming, the recording continues. However, if the channel is direct played, the recording is cancelled. Edited November 3, 2020 by primeflix More Information

ebr 14925
How many connections does your m3u tuner allow simultaneously?
primeflix 1
A lot. Many more than was being used. Recording seems to be intermittently successful. Sometimes it records perfectly. Othertimes anywhere from 1 to 30 mins.
ebr 14925
Can we please look at a specific example?
primeflix 1
Sure. I'll try and grab a log for it. Thanks for the replies
primeflix 1
Did a bit more testing and discovered that it was related to hls (m3u8) streams. What seems to be happening is that emby is happy to play hls iptv as long as only one stream is playing at a time. If another hls connection is made, the first stream gets kicked. Using ts format works fine, but hls has a lot of stability benefits for iptv. Especially when recording.

If you have the option to switch your streams to TS format please do that and see if this improves things. Emby will prefer the TS format over HLS. How many streams are you allowed to have simultaneous from your provider?
