ebr 14929
Hi. This is not a policy change but a correction of an error in the system. The Android TV app has always been supposed to require Premiere or an in-app unlock. Thanks. Emby Premiere Feature Matrix
Markusdaun 1
I don't have to understand that now. I can watch in and outside the network on my mobile phone and tablet WITHOUT Premium?!?!?! And only on the shield tv and on the TV should I pay? Yes then, bye Emby. Hello Plex It's a shame, you were really on the right track @ebr

K1ng_Lear 185

Check. Danke und gute Nacht
Carlo 4330
Hi, Emby allows some clients to be used for playback for free and have other clients that must be paid for after a trial runs out (if applicable). Part of this has to do with the stores the apps are available from, some of this has to do with the resources needed on some platforms, some has to do with the advanced features of some clients BUT most of it has to do with the fact that Emby tries to be nice and give some functionality away to allow users to use the server for free. There are many free clients you can use like Roku, Smart TV, web browser, game boxes without paying. But a business can't stay in business if it gives everything away for free! So Emby does charge a ONE-TIME small fee to unlock playback on some clients as well as have a PREMIERE level (available monthly, yearly or lifetime) that unlocks up to 25 client devices plug many cool new features for both the Emby Server and Emby Client. So you have a choice of using a free client, paying a one time app unlock or getting a Premiere license. This knowledge base article covers this really well: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001173099-emby-premiere-feature-matrix If you have any questions, let us know. ebr 14929
Hi. We've never had pay restrictions on local vs remote playback. Certain apps/features require payment regardless of where they are used. Thanks.
