berrick 28
Hi ScottIsAFool, I have struggled to use this app effectively on my Nokia Lumia 620 connecting via WiFi. Seems as though I am suffering several issues similar to those others have mentioned. If I pause a track and then try to re start it it wont. Once this happen trying to browser the app it shuts down. When I load it again it still has the pause track showing as paused and I can't play another music Fails to connect to server for ages stating authentication details incorrect then just starts connecting Won't build artist list. I do have a fairly large audio collection may this have a bearing on the problem? Video failed to play Hope you can fix keep up the great work
abstract 5
berrick, WP (Lumia 920) user myself and can't help with all of what you've said. But - and it might sound stupid - if you're anything like me your phone has possibly not been reset/turned off for months on end. I was experiencing some of your issues (pause freeze, multi-tasking return freeze, video failed to play) and despite several 'updates' appearing in my store the errors persisted. It turned out that I needed to reset my phone for the app to update properly. (Yes, I felt like a compelete noob when I realised that I hadn't even tried the old "turn it off and on again"!) WP might have a lot of haters, but I have an incredibly stable and fast phone :-)
berrick 28
Thanks for the reply. I have the latest updates from MS and whilst it appears that the app works better, ie video plays and music continues after being un paused, unfortunately once the app "crashes" it will not connect to the server, point 2 in my original post. I have tried a soft reset of the phone but no joy. The only thing which corrects this issue for me is to restart MB3 server. Not ideal but at least a work around. Still cant get an artist list Edited September 6, 2014 by berrick
ScottIsAFool 517
When you try and get an artist list and it fails to load it, can you then go back to the main screen, tap the appbar and go to about, then send the logs please. Please put in the email what the logs are regarding.

newfiend 22
Hi Scott, I also am having connection issues with the latest WP build. Prior to this build I could set the Host name to my WAN IP and connect over Cell Data or Wi-Fi. (not sure what changed between builds) Now I can ONLY connect over Cell Data Connection with the WAN IP for Host Name. If I try to connect while connected to Wi-Fi it fails to connect and presents the Connection Page on WP. If I change the Host name to my Local IP I can then connect via Wi-Fi. Maybe the app needs the ability to Connect via WAN IP (when on Cell Data) and Local IP (when on Wi-Fi)?? Not to compare apps but the Ceton My Media Center app has a section for both Local IP and Wan IP connections & ports and I can log on to that with either Wi-Fi or over Cell Data without issue because both IP addresses (Local and WAN) are input in the app settings.. I have the latest Server Build installed (stable) Version 3.0.5366.22005 as well as the latest Store updated Windows Phone version just released. I am using a Lumia 920 with Cyan Firmware and Windows Phone Developer Preview 8.1.1 Thanks for looking into this EDIT: also, I reset my phone as well (soft reset) still has the same issues I listed above. ScottIsAFool 517
I've just tried this with machine name and it worked here, my guess would be it's something to do with how your network is configured, in particular, the DNS for local machines. Either that, or your MB server is on Windows Server 2008 R2? if so, you need to put the full domain name in for that machine.
newfiend 22
Thanks for replying Scott, It was in fact an issue with my routers latest firmware update. I rolled back to the previous firmware and reset the settings and I'm back to normal. Sorry if I made you do a bunch of un-needed testing. Appreciate your reply, testing and info! Take Care, newfiend~
