keat 1
Currently help messages are not stating clearly that Open Subtitles login/password must be set in order to download subtitles. While this is obviously out of Emby's scope, "Open Subtitles" name doesn't imply that registration is necessary, so for some time i thought there are no subtitles i'm looking for rather than there are additional steps to complete. Carlo 4330
Hello keat, It's covered in the knowledge base article for Open Subtitles https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160043-open-subtitles In the catalog it could use something like this: Edited August 12, 2020 by cayars
Luke 37118
This is already there. Are you saying this isn't enough?
Carlo 4330
Wouldn't hurt to be in both places. Best thing would be to not allow the user to enable Open Subtitles if there isn't a username present.

It is in the settings, but user obviously tries to download subtitles for particular media first, and then gets empty search response with "you may need to configure open subtitles". Best thing to do would be explicitly tell user what's wrong, "Found subtitle A at site.org, subtitle B at data.xyz, could not run search in open subtitles due to missing user info, please revise your settings"
