smernt 9
Hey, so I have my libraries set up and working great locally via 'Emby for Kodi' and the 'direct paths' option. However I also share my library with family that I don't live with, but I still want them to be able to make use of the 'Direct Paths' method in Emby For Kodi. The way I have Direct Paths working is by having my Emby Libraries set up like this: Folder: /volume2/Movies Shared Network Folder: \\192.168.1.4\Movies Then I have the main shared network folder: \\192.168.1.4\ Set up as a source in Kodi File Manager. Then I set up Emby For Kodi as normal, selecting Direct Paths as the connection method and it works fine. However, since 192.168.1.4 is a local IP, that wont be able to be added as a source in Kodi for a remote client. So how would I change it/set it up so that remote clients can also access the libraries using the 'Direct Paths' method in Emby for Kodi? Cheers! TeamB 2354
Direct paths use network shares like nfs or smb, you do not want to make network shares public. You could try setting up a VPN so your users effectively end up on your network but that is involved and over complicated. You are better off sticking with http streaming.
