alphabanks 0
I would like to know what methods are used to deinterlace live tv as well as deinterlace recorded tv. I'm not sure how to approach this I assume you can deinterlace recorded tv by running post-processing within the DVR section using FFMPEG. The second part is how do you handle interlacing while watching live tv basically what's at play? For example, is this based on client end hardware or is it based on what application you are using be it Emby Theatre, web interface, or a native Emby App on your streaming device? Carlo 4330
It all depends on your device/app you're using and the hardware it has plus the settings you have configured. Many devices can handle deinterlacing just fine so Emby just sends the stream normally. For devices that can't deinterlace on their own Emby will transcode the video on the fly. alphabanks 0
So I would like know what devices can handle it because I've read reports where Nvidia Shields had problems deinterlacing.
Carlo 4330
My Shield TVs handle deinterlacing perfectly.
