Sammy 738
Currently I use File Commander which works okay and does what I need but is a bit cumbersome at times.. What do you use?

Gilgamesh_48 944
I use FX. It is a little non-intuitive in places but I find it quite useable and powerful.

Sammy 738
So in X-plore, how do you move files from a PC to an AndroidTV device (think Emby Beta!).

Carlo 4330
This to me is the easy method. Create a shared location on any network server/machine. On the Android device like a Shield TV go into settings and mount this network location so it's always available to this box. Start X-plore and this share will show up. Now you can quickly download APKs, unzip and move to the shared location. You can start X-plore, access that shared location and install the APK quickly. Side loading without ever getting out of the chair. LOL
Sammy 738
Well I do have to go to each device to complete the installation..
Carlo 4330
Yes you do have to actually do the installation on the device. But at least using network mount points you don't have to move thumb drives which can be a hassle if you have your devices tucked away. What ever work for each person is the BEST WAY! This is what I do! ^^^^ I use FX but I believe any of the file explorers for Android would work in a setup like this. My system is made easier because I have an Emby server on my Shield and I had to setup file sharing from the network to the Shield for the server to work correctly. I do not really use my file explorer anywhere else simply because I do not need to but I could if I wanted to. FX seems pretty forgiving about the hardware it is running on. The server on the Shield is not my primary server but it could be if I wanted it to be. Mainly I just use it for experimenting and testing.
