magelo 0
Per Amazon app catalog, the latest Emby Fire TV client is 1.7.92a (march 2020). In testing area, I count around 13 newer versions. Do you make them available officially sometimes? Latest seems to be 1.8.07.
Luke 37113
Hi, the testing area is for users who are participating in testing beta versions. If you're not, then you'll only receive the stable releases.
magelo 0
Thank you for your answer, but it's not really answering my question. I know the testing area is for betas. I see 13 new versions of Android/FireTV app since the last stable release (1.7.92a) and was asking if you make them stable release sometimes. I'm a long time Plex user and recently decided to give your media library manager a try. I bought a Lifetime "Emby Premiere" and even added a "Extended Premiere Option - 45 Devices Lifetime", my way for saying thanks for a great media library manager. Now I'm looking for a good living room companion for my Emby Server. AppleTV Emby client does not have a good UX, maybe a limitation of tvOS framework (Plex managed to do it right over time, tho). I tried the Roku version, but my Roku is old and slow. Next I tried the Shield TV version, which I liked. It's the closest of the HTML5 version (to me the most feature packed client with the best UX is the HTML5 version). I even applied for Infuse beta to get official Emby support, but the lack of multiple users access/user switching support is a big show stopper for me. The FireTV is the cheapest way to use the Android version, and I bought two. So now that I chose the FireTV as a living room / family room device, I'm hoping to get regular updates making it a more mature version. My question was : After 13 versions since the last stable release, do you plan to make a stable release? ps. the process to apply for Amazon beta test seems too complicated to be an option. FrostByte 5052
It's in RC now, ebr said he doesn't plan on adding any more features so that it can be released to stable. ebr 14930
Hi. We typically target a release every few months. We should be close to a new one now. Thanks.

Just a few bugs to clean up https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/86996-android-tv-beta-1808/ The 14th version since last stable release. I saw that after my last post. Hi. We typically target a release every few months. We should be close to a new one now. Thanks. Judging by the reactions so far, 1.8.08 seems to be broken! I sure hope you'll be able to fix everything! I'm keeping an eye on the testing area. Thanks! Edited June 5, 2020 by magelo
