Please see attached log

When I used Global Search addon https://kodi.tv/addon/program-add-ons-scripts/global-search

to search for movie or Tv shows, the addon was able to find the relevant movies but unable to play,

I reported the issue in Kodi Global Search addon forum

according to the developer of the addon, the issue is with E4K addon see his comment below

"thanx, it seems to be related to the emby plugin..

i'm not familiar with it, but briefly installed it and did some tests.
playing a movie works fine directly from the search results,
but if you open the video info dialog first and play it from there, it fails.

@sualfred since you're more into emby then i am, do you have any idea?
(or know someone who might have...)"

I think what the developer is saying is as below

movie it will play if set as below:

Setting >Media>Video> Default  select action>play

movie it will not play if set as below:

Setting >Media>Video> Default  select action>Show information

My choice of preference is to shown information before the movie plays

Appreciate if this can be resolved

Did they provide any more detail on how they came to that conclusion?

Hi Luke, what other details do you need, as  I have said, I tested by changing the settings in Kodi

movie it will play if kodi settings as below:

Setting >Media>Video> Default  select action>play

movie it will not play if  Kodi settings as below:

Setting >Media>Video> Default  select action>Show information

Thanks

I dont really do any searches in kodi.  I would like to see that get fixed anyway but until Angelblue comes back I don't think there is much you can do unless another developer wants to hop in.  You might also start looking at the Kodi Media Import project for future use because I don't think anyone has seen or heard much from Angelblue lately.  Hopefully she is just taking a break.

It will be a shame if Angelblue departed this forum, she is an awesome person and invaluable resource, I hope she comeback soon.

It would be good for other users and devs to step up, the Emby for Kodi add-on has had a bunch of devs contribute to it over the years, at one point we had I think 4 or 5 active devs contributing.

I started the EmbyCon add-on as I did not like the sync approach and moved to that project and over time other devs moved on to other tools and apps.

I think the project is still in a good place but needs some people to care and feed it, answer questions (technical questions) and be on the line for some level of support.
