ginjaninja 537
Something has changed on tvdb for sure but what has changed on emby? i was surprised to see some old shows specials on my next up this morning eg. H:\TV01\Absolutely Fabulous\Season 00\Absolutely Fabulous - S00E07 - White Box (2004 Christmas Special).mp4 showing as season 05 episode 9 what is odd is that due to metadata changes on tvdb emby is 100% correct...this (according to tvdb) is no longer a special but ep 9 season 5...emby does not even see the episode as a special (the emby object has lost s0e7 and airs before after fields etc and gained s5e9) my question..how does emby know that? the naming scheme is quite deliberate that this file is special 7.. is emby doing something new...is emby clued into change data on tvdb in some sense...is embys insight permanent or temporary... just interested to know what is going on. wondering wether i should rename my file s05e09 or just leave it as emby seems to be able to match the whims of tvdb. arrbee99 1560
I think I can - I looked at my copy of the above example and saw it showing under Specials as S00E07 2004 Christmas Special. I ran a Scheduled Task, and it shows up under Specials and also in Season 5 as the 9th Episode. Its not called Episode 9, but its the 9th in the list of episodes in Season 5. I can't say how new this is, if its new at all, as I forgot to look in Season 5 for the Christmas Specials presence before I ran the Scheduled Task. Happy2Play 8296
I do not see how a specifically labeled Season 0/S00E07 can be labeled or identified as something else. Unless there is wrong API metadata via TVDB. Looking at the website I see there is no S00E07 now so it is possible of a TVDB metadata issue. Will have to do some testing as the API does not return anything for S00E07.
Bigmack3000 84
In TVDB, if you click on "Edit" while in the Specials section, you can assign specials to seasons. They are then recognized as both S00E07 and S05E09. I'm not sure what the purpose of that is, but i think the same thing can be achieved if you edit the individual episode and fill in this section instead: Then the file stays in Specials, but also shows up under a specific season. ginjaninja 537
if i mark my s00e07 played in emby (now showing as s05e09) so it is removed from next up, s00e07 is scrobbled on trakt as s00e07....if i click on tvdb link on s00e07 on trakt it takes me to s05e09 on tvdb. when trakt syncs with emby, emby's s05e09 returns to unplayed. (as s05e09 is not played on trakt as it wasnt scrobbled). so everyone is in on `it`, except the trakt plugin. maybe the trakt plugin should scrobble s05e09? so it looks like tvdb is silently redirecting requests from s00e07 to s05e09...this is new? the tvdb links in emby normally take me 'aired order' url, but on these 'used to be specials' the tvdb url is 'absolute'. trakt normally respects tvdb but for now they still have s00e07. i cant find any announcement but tvdb seems to be introducing a change. guess i should ask there. maybe the trakt plugin needs an update to keep up. and it would be good to understand how tvdbs change in approach has contaminated emby..what with emby now seeing s00e07 as s05e09. ginjaninja 537
tvdb moderators have cofnirmed that nothing has changed particularly its just a user had moved the special into the season, and they are now moving them back... doesnt fully account for how/why emby seeing a special (a file \season 00\S00E07.mp4 ) within the season just becuase of tvdbs say so....but the immediate issue will be resolved when tvdbs data is corrected. Luke 37098
doesnt fully account for how/why emby seeing a special (a file \season 00\S00E07.mp4 ) within the season just becuase of tvdbs say so It probably does actually because that would have changed the special episode numbers in the metadata editor.
