gjviii 48
I just updated the in-laws to mb3 and I am having an issue I haven't seen before. I installed the latest server Version 3.0.5289.18702 and then I installed mb classic version 3.0.191.07-7.1. When I attempted to then open mbc I received the error that mb3 wasn't able to open. After a quick search, I read a post which recommended removing chocolate. I used Media Browser Classic configurator to uninstall it. Once uninstalled MBC opened fine. I am now trying to add chocolate back in using MBC but the plug in option is not there(see pic). Any ideas on why it isn't there? am I missing something obvious? I also tried to reinstall it using the configurator but that doesn't seem to be an option either. thanks for any thoughts or direction given
BATTLE DONKEY 98
Chocolate is now the standard theme for MBClassic and comes installed with it. Are u sure it isn't already installed, go over to the theme selection tab and see if its available

Cheesegeezer 3087
Suggest you do a full uninstall and reinstall of MBC. Cheers
ebr 14925
Log in to MBC with an account that is an administrator. Then you will get a "Plug-ins" tab that will allow you to re-install Chocolate. Or, you can just re-install MBC which will also re-install Chocolate. Not real sure why you had the problem in the first place, though...

Because he says he upgraded MB and chocolate causes the crash it sounds to me like it may be the same issue u helped me resolve a few months back. I had remnants of the MB2 chocolate theme still on my PC after deleting MB2. Once I deleted the file everything was working fine again http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/4123-choclate-problem/?fromsearch=1 Edited July 9, 2014 by BATTLE DONKEY
Solution Cheesegeezer 3087 Posted July 9, 2014 Solution Share Posted July 9, 2014 Because he says he upgraded MB and chocolate causes the crash it sounds to me like it may be the same issue u helped me resolve a few months back. I had remnants of the MB2 chocolate theme still on my PC after deleting MB2. Once I deleted the file everything was working fine againhttp://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/4123-choclate-problem/?fromsearch=1 But the best answer to that question was to delete the chocolate.dll in c:\windows\ehome NOT c:\ProgramData\Mediabrowser-Classic\Plugins. I'm pretty sure that ebr put a fix in after that issue to migrate the chocolate.dll from the ehome folder. @ hope you got it sorted
BATTLE DONKEY 98
I don't know the changes that happened behind the scenes, I just thought his original crash was caused by the same issues I was having because for me it only crashed when I changed the theme to chocolate. I wasn't telling him to follow the same steps, I was just throwing it out there that maybe the original crash was caused by the same issue. Sorry for the confusion

gjviii 48
As a follow up I first uninstalled mb3 and did a complete reinstall. The same error occurred when I tried to start up mb3. I then removed the chocolate plugin and was able to then start mb3. Using an admin acct, I then reinstalled Chocolate and again I was not able to open mb3. I then uninstalled it again, went into ehome folder and deleted the chocolate dll that was there and reinstalled it and again I was not able to open mb3. at that point I uninstalled mbc, verified there was no dll file in the ehome folder and reinstalled. After that all was working beautifully. long story short, the in-laws are happy, so the wife is happy, so I am happy. Thanks for all the help resolving
ebr 14925
Yeah, the problem was the old dll in ehome. That is left over from a few years ago with MB 2. I recently took the code out of the installer that looks for that because I thought it wasn't needed anymore. Guess I was wrong.
