cybergrimes 90
https://www.tivo.com/products/stream-4k This just launched today for $50 early pricing. It's Android TV on a dongle with Dolby Vision support. As far as I understand it's the regular Android TV home screen, what you see in the product page is the TiVo app (launched by TiVo button on remote) https://explore.tivo.com/how-to/stream-4k/remote I've ordered 2 for out TVs, mostly because I love the TiVo peanut remote.. which also has a few buttons most streaming remotes omit like input, live tv, guide, etc. I believe it has the Amlogic S905Y2 chip (same as Google's dev device ADT-3?). There's no ethernet port, hopefully that can be remedied with a USB adapter. That's all I've got, just thought I'd share in case anyone else finds it interesting. cybergrimes 90
It looks like it's only doing lossy Atmos inside Dolby Digital Plus. Possibly no VC-1 decoding either, not confirmed on that yet. Edited May 10, 2020 by cybergrimes
kennyb3653 5
Tivo Stream does not transcode Dolby Digital audio content at all. I know my content is working on other platforms like Fire TV Stick. I have looked for an update in the Play store for an update for the Emby App but nothing. Its the same app as the Fire TV. I have checked my setting to match what my Fire TV Stick has but no luck on trascoding audio properly. Any suggestions.

Not sure about your issue. Sorry! You might want to post in the Android TV subforum for support, make sure to attach logs when reporting a problem. lightsout 144
How are you liking these things? Any limitations you have run into? Did you get ethernet working with an adapter?
cybergrimes 90
How are you liking these things? Any limitations you have run into? Did you get ethernet working with an adapter? It has a problem with forced HDR right now. It's fine for a non-HDR display but I wouldn't use it on my HDR set until it's fixed. I put a couple on some 1080 TVs and they work just fine. The remote is not full sized, it's the same length as a Roku remote which was disappointing. That said, I still like the remote... it has input which is rare if not unheard of on a streaming device. Again works for my secondary TVs where I don't have a Harmony but might need to change input or control volume on a soundbar etc. MPEG2 playback seems fine. No VC-1 decoding. Otherwise pretty standard Android TV device, seems snappy and video output looks good. I have not tried an ethernet adapter yet. I think others on TiVo Community have reported some mixed results. There's threads on TiVo Community forums that detail fixing the HDR issue. Fix reverts on a reboot but seems like TiVo should be able to address this pretty quickly. I'll be keeping them on the secondary TVs, Shield stays on main TV. Edited May 19, 2020 by cybergrimes
