CBers 6795
The Scheduled Server Restart plugin is reporting as being "Aborted by server shutdown": This has happened for the last few days - would an MBS update cause this message ?? Nothing being reported in the server logs.
CBers 6795
Also seeing the same message on my friends and family's MB3 setup - they all run latest beta.
Sven 136
Restarted server/pc? Something in the Microsoft eventviewer itself?
CBers 6795
No, PCs weren't restarted.
Sven 136
Also nothing in the eventviewer? Running as a service? Service stopped running?
CBers 6795
Not running as a service. Will check event viewer, but seems strange it's the same on 4 different installs.
porkbone 38
I have been seeing this as well.
Koleckai Silvestri 1150
I see the same thing. I just assumed it was because the restart signal kills the server before the plugin is logged as successful.

That's what I thought, but it needs looking at. Perhaps the plugin has got a bit out of sync somehow, seeing as I see it on dev and beta releases. ebr 14959
Something must have changed here as it used to make sure this didn't happen. However, this plug-in really shouldn't be needed much anymore...

ebr 14959
Why? Something new coming? No, something old. The server now will automatically re-start after installing an update - which was the initial purpose of this plug-in.

Koleckai Silvestri 1150
It only restarts if there is no current server activity. As long as the clients are reporting activity, it should wait.
ebr 14959
I assume that will be optional? It's been there for a few months and, yes, it is optional - but I recommend leaving it on. As Wayne Luke said, it waits until there has been no activity for 30 minutes.
CBers 6795
Thanks Eric, but I'll be leaving it off. I've always had that off, since it was added. I like to know what's happening before it happens Edited July 2, 2014 by CBers
CBers 6795
The Scheduled Server Restart plugin is reporting as being "Aborted by server shutdown": This has happened for the last few days - would an MBS update cause this message ?? Nothing being reported in the server logs. This is still occurring. Is there a fix coming for this please ??
ebr 14959
I haven't looked at it because it is harmless and the plug-in is largely unnecessary.
CBers 6795
So it won't get fixed? Shouldn't it be removed from the plugin catalog then?
Koleckai Silvestri 1150
I've removed the plugin myself. I believe it isn't needed anymore.
ebr 14959
It will either get addressed or removed when I have time. It isn't really broken - it does its job fine it is just that the server changed something along the way that make it report that it aborted. I put special code in to prevent this when I first developed it but something changed.
