Teknowiztx 2
Just set up ember for first time on Synology 1019+. Checked that embysvr has r/w permissions, but receive this message on all content: 22:17:52.420 file:/volume1/Media Files/Movies/Star Wars/Star Wars Episode IV (1977).mp4: Permission denied
Luke 37272
HI, this means emby server does not have permission to access the video file. When you install Emby Server it sets up a user called embysvr on your Synology system. You need to make sure this user has access to your media. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks ! Also @@FrostByte may have some tips.

Teknowiztx 2
Did you use the steps on the page below? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Synology-:-Setting-Up-Your-Media-Library-Share Yes except path substitution. Not sure what to do on that as I use Macs iPhones, iPads and AppleTVs. Emby shows all movies, but cannot play any because of permissions, but don’t know where else to change them. Seger 110
okay, slow down, let's stick with synology for now: Step 3: the instructions you have secured? Do you have a picture of it? -> According to the first description, it must be a shared folder "Media Files" where you have activated embysvr read and write for the user embysvr. If not, please assign the rights via User (Control Panel -> User). After that please take a picture of Emby and show us what you have set in Movies: Step 7 please click once on your Movies (looks a little different than in step 8, but we want to see that. Probably it looks like this: /volume1/Media Files/Movies Please click on it once and then enter the path substitution: For this you need the name or IP of your Nas. Example: \\NameNAS\Media Files\Movies The NameNAS or IP (LAN) can be found under Control Panel - > Info Center -> Network Edited March 22, 2020 by Seger
