stratumorien 8
Apologies if this is post is redudant but thought it might help if I am replicating playback performance issues on synology emby server. Attached are logs. Live TV using HD Homerun, when transcoding using VAAPI used to work without issue but recently is now performing poorly resulting in sttering playback. Particularly thorugh browser (Chrome). FOr some time now even direct play performs well for a period of time before the audio cuts out (no audio) and then the stream freezes altogether. Restarting playback works just fine but this behavior just repeats (nVIdia Shield, Android TV client) Brian ffmpeg-transcode-de4753f3-9633-45c8-8013-9019779d21ac_1.txt embyserver.txt
softworkz 3335
Have you tried selecting a lower bitrate?
stratumorien 8
I have never needed to do this in the past. VAAPI has always provided greater than 1x transcoding and I have the bitrates on all devices set to auto. Brian

stratumorien 8
@@Luke I have and it did not help. For the past month I have switched to using an INTEL NUC running Ubuntu LTS and your linux-based server. Everything has been running brilliantly since. -Bri
Luke 37063
Thanks for the feedback. The upcoming 4.4 release has a number of transcoding improvements so we think this may be resolved with that anyway.
