Updating Play Counts Last Played info

I have just started to give Emby a try as an alternate solution for playing the music on my Synology.  Other than noticing that Emby is slow to load the information on already scanned media, my key frustration is that Emby is not updating the media file play count and last played date.

I use Media Monkey as my primary Media Library tagging, maintenance and playback tool. I have re-scanned the media files and the played files are not showing any history. When I look at the detail metadata of a file from within Emby  there is no info on the last played or play count.

1. does this capability even exist in Emby?

2. if not why not since from reading these boards and other media software music lovers like to look for tracks that are getting played or lot, or haven't been played so they can revisit them?

3. If not, is this a feature that is on the near future radar? This is a key factor for whether I stick with Emby and go premium or not.  (the other factor being the very slow response of the interface even when working from a computer directly & locally connected to the server over 1GB connection)

THank you in advance for some feedback on this issue.

Hi @@brainmusic, are you talking about embedded play counts within the media file? No, we don't currently do that.

It's certainly possible for the future, but it hasn't been done up to this point because to be honest, I don't recall anyone ever asking about it before.

Thank you for your reply. I was only actually concerned about the Last Played Date. I know I read somewhere else in the Emby Forums that this field exists and gets populated. If that is true, Is there a way to make that visible in the interface?

That makes sense and that would work. I did see the Date Played field in the sorting control but I do not see it anywhere else in the interface or settings.

Is there anyway to customize the list view so that I can see more fields. I have been through the knowledge base for Library Setup and see nothing on ability to show this in the list view or for that matter any other fields/tags that many of my files already have.

It's planned for the future. Thanks.
