intranetsnob 0
Hi all, Scheduled task, I have set the schedule task to scan library at a daily specific time. However, the schedule tasked runs automatically at incorrect times. What would be causing this issue? Thanks.
Luke 37064
Hi there, why do you feel this way?
intranetsnob 0
I have set schedule task to scan library at 11PM however it scans at random times. Is there a time setting on the client panel size to ensure timezone is correct?
Luke 37064
I have set schedule task to scan library at 11PM however it scans at random times. Can you go over an example? Server log? Is there a time setting on the client panel size to ensure timezone is correct? No because this is something you handle in your operating system. Make sure the time zone is set correctly in the OS. intranetsnob 0
Server log attached. Log.txt
intranetsnob 0
Example would be: Server scheduled task for 'Scanning Library' is 11PM GMT 13+ Server automatically runs scan at 8am GMT 13+ <-- this should not even run as the schedule items clearly tell it to run at a specific time. So this means, while library is scanning, users experience the slowness of EMBY application/ data
intranetsnob 0
Here is a reference. Scan library was 8 hours ago. But trigger says it should have done another scan at 5am local time and it did not So unsure, look forward to your response.
Luke 37064
I'd need to see the log from when the scan triggered. that doesn't appear to be this log file.
intranetsnob 0
Ah. Ok l it have to wait until the scan runs so that way can give you a fresh log

riothamus 51
If you run: timedatectl At the command prompt, does it show you the correct date and time, and time zone for you?
intranetsnob 0
Hi Luke, Check this one. Cheers. Takes place at odd time and started scanning again LOG 1.txt
intranetsnob 0
Thanks for that, did run the command riothamus, ran it. Seems like the universal time could be causing this issue. Local time: Tue 2019-11-19 18:28:18 NZDT Universal time: Tue 2019-11-19 05:28:18 UTC RTC time: Tue 2019-11-19 05:28:18 Time zone: Pacific/Auckland (NZDT, +1300) Local time and Timezone is correct
Luke 37064
Hi Luke, Check this one. Cheers. Takes place at odd time and started scanning again What time did it start? I don't see any evidence of a library scan here.
intranetsnob 0
I may have found the answer, it seems like the Universal time is triggering this even though local time on machine is matching. It started around half an hour ago ( I am not monitoring it 24/7) but time matches UTC timezone as per previous comment, will scanning library also slow down emby process on user end? Luke 37064
will scanning library also slow down emby process on user end? Depends on the horsepower of the machine and what the scan does. If there are no changes to process, then the scan should be quick and have small footprint.
intranetsnob 0
Thanks, horsepower is good. so that is a bonus. But if universal timezone does not fix it, will come back and ask the question for further help
