Warlan 1
Hello! I have an old Roku 3 that has been giving me issues with Live TV and Record TV play back. This has always been an issue over the years but has progressively gotten worse. For one, it seems to lock/disable my tuners. This causes record errors on my WMC machine (Win 8) and recordings won't take place. As a result I removed ServerWMC, thus defaulting to the built in Live TV capability in Emby, and am using the Roku Emby Beta app. This still gives the same messages on the WMC machine but the recordings still take place. The play back also seems better with the beta app thus far. As a mistake my wife started ServerWMC and it said 2 of the tuners were disabled (I have a HDHomerun Prime). Still, the tuners seemed to work fine other than the WMC error messages. Do I need to upgrade my Roku device? Switch to another device? I also have an Amazon Fire TV in another bedroom that doesn't seem to have the issues but I don't like the interface as much. Thanks in advance! ebr 14925
Hi. How do you stop playing Live TV in the Roku app? Don't do so by pressing the "home" button. Instead, back out first and see if that helps. Otherwise, this may be an issue with server wmc.
speechles 1920
We have contacted Roku about this both publically and privately. https://community.roku.com/t5/Roku-Developer-Program/Please-give-us-onDestroy-as-an-event/m-p/515902#M44489 This is the public discussion to the higher ups at Roku. My private discussion led to the public discussion. They use feedback to determine new features just like everyone else. If you contribute to that thread above with your issue about serverWMC it will help. I can do so, but they get tired always hearing from me. It is a breath of fresh air to them to hear others that have the same issue mentioning so in the same thread. This gets them to act. It is exactly as ebr says above. If you use the HOME key to exit the Roku app we do not get an "onDestroy" signal or any time at all to clean up. We are just rudely exited without any means to communicate with any streams, the server, or anything. This causes the issue. ebr 14925
Just for further clarification, in most cases, the server will clean up the streams after about 60 seconds but ServerWMC may be an extra complication here on that.

Warlan 1
@@ebr and speechles: Ok so it's probably from backing out using the home button. Not by choice, but because the stream gets stuck on loading. I can confirm Emby server does not clean up though. This morning all 3 tuners were 'in use' and Emby claimed Roku was still streaming one channel (which it wasn't). I wasn't able to stop the stream within Emby Server either, had to restart computer. I'm not using ServerWMC though, just the built in tuners. @@Luke, I'll try send out the info. Thanks all for the help!
