rbronco21 11 Posted November 8, 2019 Share Posted November 8, 2019 I've been using native for Kodi and play files through smb which I like because I am using path substitutions on some of my clients and not on others. Now I have to account for movies with multiple formats so I've switched to addon. Does Emby for Kodi support Direct Play, and does that mean it will allow me to select the desired format and then play the file using smb? I keep seeing Direct Play in the forums, but I can't see any way to turn it on. Is it a client or server option? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

horstepipe 356 Posted November 10, 2019 Share Posted November 10, 2019 You can select between the methods on Emby for Kodi install wizard. Reset your local database and it will ask you again. I'm looking for the best of both worlds, multi version movies and smb playback. Here are the settings I have that I think are relevant in the Kodi addon.
