almaster 2
Unfortunately I never managed to get my Emby DLNA configuration to work properly. So after some time I am making the last attempts before my annual subscription expires. My configuration: Synology NAS with Emby v4.2.1.0, Yamaha RX-V777 Home Theater for DLNA renderer and android smartphone with BubbleUPNP as DLNA control point. My library consists of only two formats: mp3 or flac. When I run flac everything works perfectly, while with any mp3 Emby transcodes and everything freezes. I have to switch off all devices to get the working dlna back. I attach the server and transcoding log. This unfortunately happens only with Emby, forcing me to use other dlna servers. Does anyone know if there is something I can try to solve the problem before abandoning Emby? If it can help, I noticed that the URL called for the stream has a double encoding of "&", and in fact if I try to simulate the call from a browser, with double encoding Emby does the transcoding which does not happen without double encoding; example: with: http://192.168.1.10:8096/audio/11629/stream.mp3?DeviceId=0848a7f202514754c7dd30877547379b&MediaSourceId=768a0a2cda815265670fdec5479cbb89&Static=true&PlaySessionId=52af1a92ce8578404f128b6b92d28e31 (note the "&") emby perform the transcoding; with: http://192.168.1.10:8096/audio/11629/stream.mp3?DeviceId=0848a7f202514754c7dd30877547379b&MediaSourceId=768a0a2cda815265670fdec5479cbb89&Static=true&PlaySessionId=52af1a92ce8578404f128b6b92d28e31 Emby play without transcoding I don't know how and why double encodings happen, but this is in the log. Any help is appreciated. Thanks embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode.txt Edited October 22, 2019 by almaster
Luke 37132
Hi, if you don't mind installing the beta server, we should be able to work together to get this resolved. Thanks.
almaster 2
Thank you very much Luke! I would be very happy if we could solve this problem. Of course I can install the beta version, but I couldn't find the version for synology armv7. Maybe I could do tests on PC with the windows version? Always if the problem is not related to the hardware... Meanwhile, thanks for the support!
almaster 2
I don't know if i must open a new topic in the Server Test area, however i installed the beta server 4.3.0.15 on my windows machine. The problem is the same with my NAS and described above except that transcoding does not hang all systems. I don't know why Emby decides to transcode from mp3 to the same mp3, but this happens only when I transmit via DLNA to my Yamaha home theater and only for mp3 formats (flac works very well). If we could prevent any transcoding, the server would work fine. I did two tests and attached the logs: the first using the dlna function "send to" directly from the browser, the second using BubbleUPNP from an Android smartphone. The results are the same. I remain available for testing. almaster 2
Ok. I will wait for the next beta update and let you know my tests. Thanks
almaster 2
Please try again with the next beta update. Thanks. Thanks Luke. I've tested the new beta version 4.3.0.16. I can finally confirm that unnecessary mp3 transcoding no longer occurs and my home theater works fine, but the log fills up with errors for every mp3 I play through dlna. I attach the server log and as you can see there are many errors that report: "Error MediaSourceManager: Error getting media sources"... It's strange because in any case the mp3 is played despite a very small latency compared to the flac. Did I configure something wrong? embyserver.txt
