JshKlsn 4
It would be handy to be able to see missing episodes on the series cover so that I know which episodes I am missing from which series without having to enter all of them and scroll. Something like this mockup, where the red "1" beside the "2" would indicate that I am missing 1 episode that has aired.
Noustaa 2
Hi, i agree it would be a good feature. Btw i think (but im not sure) that emby stat server (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/56640-developing-a-standalone-embystat-server/) can check how many episodes you miss on your server. But i don't know if you are able to have the details for each TV show individually...
JshKlsn 4
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with FreeBSD (FreeNAS), so that's a bummer!
ebr 14925
How would a user "just know" what that number is?
Noustaa 2
You mean which episode is actually missing ?
ebr 14925
No. I mean a normal user is looking at that cover with two numbers on it. I don't think they'd know what the red number was...
Noustaa 2
Instead of a red spot we could just use the green one and put 2/3 for example. Do you think it would be easier to understand ? EDIT: and if we already have all the episodes, instead of showing 3/3, just show 3 i think. Edited October 11, 2019 by Noustaa
ebr 14925
I'm afraid not. I think it would be quite ambiguous what each number was at that point. If I saw 2/3 though, I would expect that to mean I had 2 unwatched items out of a total of 3. I think the "missing" data is much more of administrative information than it is user information... JshKlsn 4
How is the user supposed to know what the green number means, though? It's the same thing. Also, it would be a feature that you enable (like the missing episode feature), and it would describe what it does. Enable missing aired episode indicator > shows a red number on the cover of seasons to indicate which have missing episodes that have been aired. EDIT: or you could just simplify it and have a feature that literally adds text saying "MISSING X AIRED EPISODES". I don't exactly care how this is implemented, I just wish there was a way to see this information. Edited October 11, 2019 by JshKlsn
ebps01 6
It would be a great idea to have some kind of information talking to users who are missing episodes in their TV library

ebr 14925
How is the user supposed to know what the green number means, though? It's the same thing. Correct, and that is an issue for new users now. Adding another one would just compound that issue and make it even harder. Also, as I indicated above, this information is much more useful to an administrator than it is an end user so I don't think it belongs that up front in the main UI. JshKlsn 4
If it is something you can only see in the back end then I'm fine with that too. However, I think, like most emby features, it should be disabled by default and have the option to turn it on per-user. My family would definitely enjoy seeing if there's any aired episodes missing.
