Simon_Fuller 0
I have just signed up for Emby premiere as I was getting the AVI_UNKNOWN message when browsing and a message unable to playback. I have the latest Emby server 4.2.1.0 and using DLNA to play movies on the KDL-47W805A tv. I have set up a DLNA profile called TV using the default Sony Bravia 2013 profile. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Luke 37096
HI @@Simon_Fuller, is this only happening with your avi files?
Simon_Fuller 0
Its happening to all my files. Luke 37096
You're saying mp4's and mkvs are resulting in an AVI_UNKNOWN message?
Simon_Fuller 0
You're saying mp4's and mkvs are resulting in an AVI_UNKNOWN message? Funnily enough no. It recognises MKV and MP4 correctly but displays "playback not available" when selected with every file regardless of type
Luke 37096
Are you sure your TV supports those files? Have you checked the supported media formats for it?
Simon_Fuller 0
Yes and no. I used to use twonky and it transcoded the avi without a problem. Checking the manual, it natively supports MP4 and MKV. I used Emby convert from AVI to MKV and Mp4 and they still wont work on the TV.
Luke 37096
What did it transcode the avi to?

Luke 37096
Can you get a twonky transcoding log? That would be the fastest way, especially since i do not have your device on hand to test it personally. Thanks.
Simon_Fuller 0
I have just reinstalled Twonky and it plays MP4 and AAC audio. The proflile is generic DIAL and the log does not show any transcoding.
