pwhodges 1532
I like to play music while doing other work on my computer, and typically do this using the web client. But having found that the web client can't play some of my audio files, I tried using Theatre for this. It plays the tricky files OK, but each time it changes track it grabs focus - which is a pain when I'm doing other stuff on the computer. Can this be tamed, please? Luke 37097
Can you please discuss an example? thanks.
pwhodges 1532
Hmm; it's slightly more complicated than I thought. I started Theatre while typing my first reply (now deleted) and there was no problem. However, I had merely opened my browser over the top of Theatre; when as an experiment I tried minimising Theatre, I found it restored the window on starting a new song, which naturally gave it focus as I described. I have tried several times now, and if the window is on the screen but behind others there is no problem, but if it is minimised when a new song starts it is restored and takes focus. Luke 37097
What version of Theater?
pwhodges 1532
3.0.9 That's current, isn't it?

ziebarthj 2
I am having this same problem in Theater 3.0.11. If minimized, Theater pops back up and grabs focus away from whatever window I happened to be typing in when Theater changes to the next audio track. If Theater is open on the desktop but just not the active window, it doesn't grab the focus away when changing to the next track, though it does blink the taskbar button for Theater and then leave it highlighted every time it hits a new track. That's less awful than grabbing focus, but still a little on the irritating side. So, if this issue had been thought to be addressed in some release between the OP and now, it has not. sooty234 266
It's always been this way for me.
Luke 37097
We'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.
Luke 37097
Can you try this with 3.0.14 and see if it's still an issue? Thanks.
Luke 37097
The reason I asked is that we are no longer able to reproduce. Thanks.
ziebarthj 2
I've been running 3.0.14 for the better part of the day now, both with straight-through playing and with playlist shuffle playing, and have not observed Theater grabbing focus like it was. I've tried it with the window open but off to the side, minimized, and up but behind other windows...no focus-grabbing in any of these scenarios. I can't think of any other ways to try it, so as far as I can tell the problem is fixed. Thanks for taking care of this
