Lonald 9
Hi all, I am collecting Opera discs and have noticed a problem with most of the above discs. I use CloneBD to make lossless backups and these .mkv files do not play properly on Emby Theater. They do play on Kodi. If AVC is used, the .mkv does work fine. When fast forward is used, the video advances to a point about 42 minutes into the recording and will then always start from that point. In working with technical support, one finding is that the Opus Arte discs do not follow all Blu Ray standards: I did find something unusual: the key frames are only every 8 seconds. That is an enormous amount of time in between key frames and I can imagine, that this would hamper seeking on some players. And since you made a lossless copy, CloneBD can't change that. Those 8 seconds are a violation of the Blu-ray specification (it requires at most 1s), so that disc is not quite spec conforming (this is not unusual for discs authored by small studios). Is this something that can be rectified in the Theater app? I am not sure that the above is the full answer, of course. Thanks!

Lonald 9
Please be specific as to which file from which app and I can do so. "Media information" unfortunately does not mean much to me. Do you want a logfile from the .mkv that did not work properly? The .mkv file itself (large)? A log file from Emby? Some other file? Thanks, and sorry for the confusion!
Guest asrequested
Any file that you are experiencing this, with. And the web app. Open a web browser, go to your server dashboard. Top left corner, click the home button. Find the video in question, and scroll to the bottom, you will see media info, like this

Guest asrequested
Your problem is likely because it's HEVC. You're probably using the app from the windows store and you don't have the HEVC plugin. Try using this app https://emby.media/emby-theater.html
Lonald 9
I don't recall where I downloaded the app - most likely from the website originally, then upgraded as the app was upgraded. I've used Emby for a good number of years. I did follow the link and uploaded the app. The .mkv still does not work properly and also does not work on the web application. Lonald 9
The problem with the copies is that if you fast forward at all, the movie advances around 40 minutes into the video. Once that occurs, the video cannot be returned to a time point prior to that 40 minute mark. That 40 minute point now becomes the de facto starting point of the video whenever you go to play it again. The Leawo player also has problems with the .mkv files, but Kodi and others do not. Examples are: L'Elisier D'Amore by the Glyndebourne with a disc date of 2010 on IMDB (TheMovieDB ID 32370) La Boheme by the Royal Opera House also dated 2010 on IMDB (IMDB ID tt3440246)

Guest asrequested
Got it! You have to force the disc demuxer. --demuxer=+disc Here are the available demuxers; Available demuxers: demuxer: info: disc CD/DVD/BD wrapper edl Edit decision list cue CUE sheet rawaudio Uncompressed audio rawvideo Uncompressed video mkv Matroska libarchive libarchive wrapper rar Rar archive file lavf libavformat mf image files (mf) playlist Playlist file null null demuxer I think because it's a remuxed disc rip, that's what it needs. https://mpv.io/manual/master/#options-demuxer Edited September 17, 2019 by Doofus
