firewater 2
My Kodi skin displays the .nfo <tag> for all movies whenever present, which in my case is almost always. The problem is there's an appended "Movie" tag on all of them. I understand why this makes sense within Emby internal structure, but when it comes to the frontend, the tags should be the one's I have on the .nfo file and nothing else. My <tag> field holds "extra genres", so I get lines like: "Coming-of-age / Movie / Science fiction" for every case.
Angelblue05 4130
Tags are the only way to separate the Kodi library according to your Emby libraries. Not sure what your question/request is but this isn’t going to change, I don’t think. “Movie” reflects the name of your library. If your library name is Kids movies in Emby, then that tag will be added. Edited September 5, 2019 by Angelblue05
firewater 2
Hm. Not sure I understand. Below is how Emby displays Playtime for me. I've tagged it under "City Symphony". I'd expect the same on Emby for Kodi, but instead it shows: I realize it's a feature request, but it feels closer to a bug, as far as having a 1:1 relation to Emby's own client. sualfred 677
Kodi does not support multiple different libraries. If you have movie libraries like "Movies", "Kids Movies", "Documentations", everything would be in "Movies" in Kodi. But Kodi supports tags and is able to filter by those. So we simply use the library names as tags in Kodi. With this approach we can create single nodes with the same library structure as in Emby. In Embuary for example I use rules like "if movie has tag FOOBAR" to show only movies of library "FOOBAR". There is no other way to do it and it's no bug. firewater 2
Well then. It's inconvenient, I display these tags a lot and have a small space to display them, not to mention the redundancy as far as frontend goes. Is there no way to omit them while keeping all the node structure and such, through advancedsettings.xml maybe? Alternatively, I could change all my <tag> to a different field, <studio> or something, could you tell which ones Emby supports that support multiple values? sualfred 677
Please believe me when I say there is no other way.
firewater 2
I believe you, I'll make it a request about the way it handles tags.
