gungatim 8
I just noticed that nothing in my DVR schedule recorded over the past week, tried some ad-hoc recording as well, all I get is the folder, nfo file, but no video file. tried to watch live tv and it just hangs on the server and also tv and firestick aps. end up having to kill the server in task manager and restart it to get it to work. wondering if this is related to the last upgrades (went to 4.2.1.0 within the same time period) - also I noticed some errors in the file attached, relating to a couple plug-ins I added which got put in with the refresh of the upgrade, maybe that has something to do with it? also unrelated but I notice the file says operating system is Windows NT but i'm on Win 10. lastly, I don't have the tray icon any more and I see an error about that as well. this is the first time looking at the log files trying to diagnose so hope you can help!! embyserver-63701078400.txt Edited August 22, 2019 by gungatim
Luke 37099
Hi there, have you tried restarting the machine?
gungatim 8
yes, have restarted twice. I should add the Haupauge tuner does work fine running the Haupage software, just not in emby any longer. I have also tried removing and re-adding both the device and the guide, including remapping the channels but still not being seen in emby. I am going to try uninstalling those tvfront end add-ins, maybe that has something to do with it.

gungatim 8
No I mean the tvfrontend TVHclient add-in. deleted and restarted but nothing changed. something is wrong. the Win TV software works fine, I can play live tv in 2 windows simultaneously...but Emby just hangs and freezes up trying to play live tv. 2019-08-12 15:30:41.022 Error MediaSourceManager: Error probing live tv stream *** Error Report *** Version: 4.2.1.0 Command line: C:\Users\kira\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\EmbyServer.dll -noautorunwebapp Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True User Interactive: True Runtime: file:///C:/Users/kira/AppData/Roaming/Emby-Server/system/System.Private.CoreLib.dll Processor count: 2 Program data path: C:\Users\kira\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata Application directory: C:\Users\kira\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system System.Exception: System.Exception: ffprobe failed for "http://127.0.0.1:8096/LiveTv/LiveStreamFiles/69cc015ce20f4d7ea07d7843a88a8f02/stream.ts"- streams and format are both null: { } ffprobe version 4.0.3-emby_2019_04_09-g5abbb1430d+449 Copyright © 2007-2018 the FFmpeg developers and softworkz for Emby LLC built with gcc 8.3.0 (Rev2, Built by MSYS2 project) http://127.0.0.1:8096/LiveTv/LiveStreamFiles/69cc015ce20f4d7ea07d7843a88a8f02/stream.ts:Invalid data found when processing input at Emby.Server.MediaEncoding.Encoder.MediaEncoder.GetMediaInfoInternal(String inputPath, String primaryPath, MediaProtocol protocol, Boolean extractChapters, String probeSizeArgument, Boolean isAudio, Boolean forceEnableLogging, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Library.MediaSourceManager.AddMediaInfoWithProbe(MediaSourceInfo mediaSource, Boolean isAudio, ReadOnlyMemory`1 cacheKey, Boolean addProbeDelay, Boolean isLiveStream, CancellationToken cancellationToken) at Emby.Server.Implementations.Library.MediaSourceManager.OpenLiveStreamInternal(LiveStreamRequest request, CancellationToken cancellationToken) Source: Emby.Server.MediaEncoding TargetSite: Void MoveNext() Edited August 12, 2019 by gungatim

gungatim 8
everything failed again last night. still no live TV. something wrong with some ffprobe it looks like, whatever that is... latest file attached is there some way to roll back to the version that worked? embyserver.txt
gungatim 8
can anyone help? ffprobe is trying to do something, I don't know what. the dvr fires, the stream starts, for 6.5 seconds ffprobe apparently tries to identify something about the streaming show, but I can't figure out what. appears there are two files it checks, a Season Id and a Series Id. (but no episode Id??) when it is done, the live stream ends and ffprobe process exits with "1" meaning it failed. the whole time the display is blank (no tv show) and no .ts file is created in the recording folder of the DVR - although the .nfo file and .jpg file for that episode are created just no video. obviously ffprobe figured out what show it was but emby isn't programmed properly for identifying the format?? version prior to 4.2.1 worked flawlessly. then the final error report says streams and format are both null. I don't know how Emby is programmed, but whatever it's doing with this ffprobe thing is not working.
gungatim 8
maybe this one will help. live stream opens at 8pm, starts to record, says it will go for 59+ minutes, gets artwork and meta data, 6.5 seconds later stream ends, recording ends, stream closed, temp files all deleted. the ffprobe starts and fails because no file is there. why did the recording and stream end prematurely? is the bitrate of 20000000 correct? see below log file excerpt 2019-08-12 20:00:28.039 Info MediaSourceManager: Live stream opened: {"Protocol":"Http","Id":"native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_9d32bba1f5511118e402b86667455c28","Path":"http://127.0.0.1:8096/LiveTv/LiveStreamFiles/61784c1b2f8140929282928feca56d9a/stream.ts","Type":"Default","Container":"mpegts","IsRemote":false,"SupportsTranscoding":true,"SupportsDirectStream":true,"SupportsDirectPlay":false,"IsInfiniteStream":true,"RequiresOpening":true,"RequiresClosing":true,"LiveStreamId":"06044cf0e6f93cdae5f285c9ecfaaeb4_01413a525b3a9622ce6fdf19f7dde354_native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_9d32bba1f5511118e402b86667455c28","RequiresLooping":false,"SupportsProbing":false,"MediaStreams":[{"VideoRange":"SDR","IsInterlaced":true,"BitRate":20000000,"IsDefault":false,"IsForced":false,"Type":"Video","Index":-1,"IsExternal":false,"IsTextSubtitleStream":false,"SupportsExternalStream":false,"Protocol":"File"},{"IsInterlaced":false,"IsDefault":false,"IsForced":false,"Type":"Audio","Index":-1,"IsExternal":false,"IsTextSubtitleStream":false,"SupportsExternalStream":false,"Protocol":"File"}],"Formats":[],"Bitrate":20000000,"RequiredHttpHeaders":{},"ReadAtNativeFramerate":false}2019-08-12 20:00:28.041 Info LiveTV: Will record to J:\Recorded TV\OTA Shows\Law & Order Criminal Intent (2001)\Season 2\Law & Order Criminal Intent S02E07 Tomorrow.ts for 59.532637155 minutes.2019-08-12 20:00:28.352 Info HttpClient: GET https://emby.tmsimg.com/assets/p184724_b_v7_au.jpg2019-08-12 20:00:28.357 Info LiveTV: Copying recording stream to file J:\Recorded TV\OTA Shows\Law & Order Criminal Intent (2001)\Season 2\Law & Order Criminal Intent S02E07 Tomorrow.ts2019-08-12 20:00:28.386 Info LibraryMonitor: Season 1 (J:\Recorded TV\OTA Shows\Chicago P.D. gungatim 8
It's a Seagate 8tb. but I already removed it and reset the directory to k drive which is western digital red, and tried the P drive which is Western Digital blue. gungatim 8
And you still can't play live tv either, right? correct. when trying to play live tv it errors out during that ffprobe stage...same with recording. last line says - "streams and format are both null", and prior to that I notice it says "Live Stream ended". Is the stream ending for some reason before ffprobe completes? how can I track this down? also I removed the tvdb plug-in since the check for updates failed this week, tried to re-add it but it won't install. that's why the first line is going to MovieDbProvider I think. I saw some errors trying to reach TVDB website as well last week, maybe it was down. so far I have done a complete re-install of emby, restarted the computer, restarted emby, uninstalled the tv stick, re-installed, remapped channels, refreshed guide, deleted guide, moved directories and hard drives around, all to no avail. (I moved the hard drives because Emby doesn't seem to want to shut off the automatic conversion of ts to mkv I setup on that drive for new content back when it was working. it was just running endlessly making the entire system unresponsive. I think that should be a feature added---some way to turn OFF the conversion stuff.) here is log from trying to watch live TV. 2019-08-20 00:31:20.361 Info App: MovieDbProvider: Finding id for item: Chicago P.D. 2019-08-20 00:31:20.361 Info HttpClient: GET https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/tv?api_key=f6bd687ffa63cd282b6ff2c6877f2669&query=Chicago+P.D.&language=en 2019-08-20 00:31:22.816 Info HttpClient: GET https://private.omdbapi.com?apikey=fe53f97e&plot=full&r=json&s=Chicago+P.D.&type=series 2019-08-20 00:31:23.524 Info LiveTV: Getting media sources for recording from channel 461221 461221 2019-08-20 00:31:23.524 Info LiveTV: Opening live stream for recording from channel 461221 461221 2019-08-20 00:31:23.525 Info LiveTvManager: Opening channel stream from Emby, external channel Id: hauppauge_18 2019-08-20 00:31:23.525 Info LiveTV: Streaming Channel hauppauge_18 2019-08-20 00:31:23.525 Info App: GetChannelStream: channel id: hauppauge_18. stream id: native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_bad7c8d2592a007b59e8310bd41bc57e 2019-08-20 00:31:23.525 Info App: Hauppauge GetChannelStream args "GetChannelStream" "1" "18" "native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_bad7c8d2592a007b59e8310bd41bc57e" 2019-08-20 00:31:26.519 Debug App: Hauppauge response: C:\Users\Public\Videos\Pause Buffer\livetv-11916.ts 2019-08-20 00:31:26.519 Info App: Live stream opened after 0.0097ms 2019-08-20 00:31:26.519 Info LiveTV: Returning mediasource streamId native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_bad7c8d2592a007b59e8310bd41bc57e, mediaSource.Id native_4165bdd3ae66a7c9abc5efccb7553d53_bad7c8d2592a007b59e8310bd41bc57e, mediaSource.LiveStreamId null 2019-08-20 00:31:26.520 Info MediaSourceManager: Waiting 3000ms before probing the live stream 2019-08-20 00:31:29.532 Info MediaEncoder: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Execute: C:\Users\kira\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\ffprobe.exe -analyzeduration 3000000 -i "http://127.0.0.1:8096/LiveTv/LiveStreamFiles/ec38b5613fe5440cbd78e8fb33132224/stream.ts" -threads 0 -v info -print_format json -show_streams -show_format -show_data 2019-08-20 00:31:29.624 Info MediaEncoder: ProcessRun 'ffprobe' Started. 2019-08-20 00:31:30.581 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://127.0.0.1:8096/LiveTv/LiveStreamFiles/ec38b5613fe5440cbd78e8fb33132224/stream.ts. gungatim 8
It is now working. I played around trying to figure out why the live stream stopped. I made a couple changes to the settings in WinTV, not sure which one fixed it but I think it is the buffer. I had turned the buffer setting to zero "0" from the default of 10 mins. This is because my hard drive filled up with these temp.ts files and I had to go in and delete them all which took an hour. for a couple weeks I kept going in and deleting them every day until I just went ahead and got rid of the buffering since I don't need to pause or rewind live tv. I THINK (please confirm) that Emby is looking for those temp files and uses them for displaying live tv and recording in the DVR. since they do not exist, there was nothing for Emby to find and thus ffprobe fails. can you confirm this is how it works? and what value should I use (currently set at 3 mins), anything >0? see attached pics. the only other setting I changed was the hardware acceleration in WinTV, so that may have fixed it but I haven't done a test with it turned back off to verify. I attached two screenshots of the two settings I changed; the acceleration for MPEG-2/H.264 was unchecked while the HEVC was checked, now they both are, second pic is the Disk Buffering setting which I had set to zero. Thanks!! (hope this helps someone else)

gungatim 8
for others, I found this related thread below. looks like I was correct, the pause buffer needs to be there, it is used by Emby for the TV. apparently others have had this problem of filling the hard drive as well...it is what caused all this in the first place! https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57438-live-tv-pause-buffer-fills-hd-and-crashes-server/

SHSPVR 119
Yes NextPVR dose pick up the local broadcast channels and it can even pull EPG off the local channel to but it only good up 6 hour to 48 hours depend on channel by using v4 keep do in mind that v5 is still in beta, then you have two option to go with install Emby NextPVR Plug-in or build make M3U and used Emby EPG data Clear Emby LiveTV by remove the tuner and EPG be uninstall WinTV software Edited August 22, 2019 by SHSPVR
