jlazy 0
Hi, @@cayars Yesterday my Emby server started acting strangely. When watching live tv on my Firestick TV 4k I seem to keep losing connectivity, the video stutters or the app just quits and goes to the home screen. Now I can't see the server via emby connect, It just disappears. I have tested with smarters and there is no buffering or issues, so it's not the provider. Also, I have checked my network settings and nothing is wrong there. Any ideas on what is going on or how to fix this? Carlo 4330
We need more info to help try and understand your situation. Is your Emby server and your Firestick on the same local network? Is your Firestick using WIFI to connect to the network? You mention Emby connect. Is this running on the same machine that is running your Emby server? What tuner are you using for Live TV? Do you have this same problem when watching other content from a library or just issues with Live TV?
jlazy 0
Thanks for the response. Is your Emby server and your Firestick on the same local network? Yes. Is your Firestick using WIFI to connect to the network? Yes You mention Emby connect. Is this running on the same machine that is running your Emby server? Not sure what you mean. Side note, I actually think my Emby connect account is hosed somehow. On just one of the Firesticks it always asks me to log in..so wierd..I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still does it. Also, when I try to create new users or update a user I keep getting this error: What tuner are you using for Live TV? Emby Premier Do you have this same problem when watching other content from a library or just issues with Live TV? No, Just live TV. I have a remote server I connect to without issue. It seems to just lose connectivity randomly. I did set this up as a test on and old laptop (MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010)) and am thinking about getting a dedicated rig and starting from scratch. I'm sure when setting this up mistakes were made lol. The thing that I can't figure out is having to login every time on that one firestick. Carlo 4330
Ignore the question about Emby Connect. I just got done helping someone else with Emby Connect and was in that mindset. Let me ask you a couple of other question. First are you in the US? If so you want to have a phone call? Might be easier to talk your issue through quickly over the phone. Yes or No answer is fine here and we can take it to PM if yes. You answered "Emby Premier" to the question of what tuner you are using which isn't a tuner. Let me ask this another way which I think I know the answer to. When setting up Emby for Live TV is it using your Over The Air Antenna or Cable system or did you setup Emby to use an M3U Tuner and have a subscription service with another company other than your cable/internet company? A 2010 old Macbook laptop isn't a great server as it's 9 years old. Do you have anything newer you could use?
jlazy 0
@@cayars Hi, sorry for the late response. I am actually getting ready to buy some gear for this. Any suggestions on a budget machine? My set up is all streaming, one service for VOD and one for IPTV.
Carlo 4330
@@jlazy, realistically Emby will run any machine built in the last couple of years well especially if it has an i5 or i7 process and has built in HW video handling. BTW. when you mentioned VOD, you are talking through an IPTV provider correct?
