vdatanet 1549
Hi! As you know, the Emby application for Apple TV seems to be stuck due to lack of resources. The application for Apple TV is free for unlimited playback, however the application for Android TV (and other platforms) requires Premiere to play more than 1 minute. This is a question for users of the Emby application for Apple TV: Do you think that converting the Emby application for Apple TV to Premiere would be an acceptable solution to allocate more resources? And this one for the developer team: If users agreed to convert the application to Premiere: Would it be possible? Would you advance in the development of the application? Thanks! Senna 368
Do you think that converting the Emby application for Apple TV to Premiere would be an acceptable solution to allocate more resources? For me, it would be a logical decision if the result would be, that MORE development time is going to be spend, to get the Apple TV app in a state, that most of us are finally happy with it. Right now, most of us, are FAR from happy with it and the competition is now already miles ahead, with the same MPV player core I guess it is mostly a numbers game and only the Emby Team have insight in the real numbers, to see which devices are used most by Emby users and a logical conclusion could be, that the Emby Apple TV user base is just too small, to approve extra development time. UnderMiner 11
Hello, I am a Premiere Subscriber and we only watch Emby using the Apple TV. We used Xbox One in the past but that moved on to another household. It would be great to have more features and performance from the Apple TV but I don't know the challenges or the cost for the development team. If they force a subscription, it may reduce the number of installations. On the other hand, if there were more features, it would be worth the extra cost for new customers. This is an important topic but I'm not certain of the best way forward to have more rapid development of Emby for Apple TV.
Michael K. 24
I would happily pay additional to get more improvements to the Apple TV app. I’d even be willing to pay above the Premier subscription, just for this app.
vdatanet 1549
I believe that the application has a lot of potential. If the crucial problems that have already been discussed are resolved, several users of competing products can be attracted and they would probably be willing to pay a premiere subscription for unlimited playback. You must take risks and solve the problems before attracting new users, if you do this, new users will come.
Everbrave 62
I don’t need the premium features; I’d rather pay for the app itself. currently, I use Emby LG or MrMC as Emby client. Plex player for tvOS 13 is very potent even with the native player alone which doesn’t need a subscription either!
