HEVC 10-bit playback on Firestick - Too many errors

Thanks.  It is a problem of some sort with how the audio track is encoded.   Interestingly, we've seen this same problem with other people - also with GoT episodes.  Where did this file come from?

Any idea why it suddenly changed (worked fine before)?

Unfortunately it's absolutely not GoT specific :(

Many files have it at this point, and they all played fine before.

Though it may be that all files from the same release team are having problems all of a sudden.

Will check back with the file name when Im at the server if that info might help.

If I am able I will also check some other releases if they work fine.

Game of Thrones (2011) - S01E10 - Fire and Blood (1080p BluRay x265 10bit AAC 7.1 Tigole)

That is the file from the data I send.

Did test some other files with different releases while I was at it.

Unfortunately they have the same problem.

Perhaps they all encode the audio the same way though.

Did as you asked but unfortunately it gives the same error.

Should I send the logs again or is that of no use?

hey ebr, got another update for the test version today. Started playing the episode after that.

However the weird/funny thing is, the basic emby version plays it now as well.

Or does the basic version get overwritten automatically as well?

Because at this moment they have 2 emby apps installed on fire tv stick, and only 1 says test in the upper right corner on it.

However suddenly it started playing them again.

Did send a log after starting the episode.

I did that on both version so 2 logs should be send from local emby account Alie playing Game of Thrones approximately 3 hours back from posting this.

You'll need to confirm the exact version number in the app setting screen when running.

Due to the way Android manages apps, you may not be running the version you think you are.

The beta should play the item but the release won't.

ah maegibbons is right, it's now both the beta version, just one of them doesn't show test on the Fire TV store screen.

They are in fact both on 1.7.36a when I check at the settings screen in the emby app.

So works again with latest beta it seems :)

This seems to be an issue again on fire TV stick version 1.7.50a & server 4.2.1.0

Tried a few movies mainly 4k that give too many errors again.

Log sent from account miniL between now and an hour back or so.

Hi.  Can I see the media info from the web app for one of these?

Is your Fire a 4K device?

Sorry I don't generally use the web app, can you point me in the right direction for finding the info you need?

Not a clue honestly, I know my parents bought the TV pretty recently, but then again it doesn't seem very advanced (bought fire TV stick for them so they could use emby).

Just bring up this item in the web app and scroll to the bottom of the page.  All that info about video, audio, etc.

Thanks.

Checked some more files, seems to indeed only happen with the 4K movies.

Movies that I only have in 1080p seem to run just fine, shows as well.

And below is the requested info of one of the movie files (can't remember which one I opened for the log but they should all pretty much match as they are the same group releases):

This may be a completely different issue from your original one so please send a log from the app again so I can see exactly what is going on.

Thanks.

Okay, will do so ASAP when I have access to my parents their device.

I'll send a log from the file I just posted the information from (Dark Phoenix) when I can and let you know.

Okay, so this appears to be a 4K movie you are attempting to play on a 1080 device and the app is not transcoding it down for some reason...

Could it be depending on a setting on the fire TV app?

I haven't looked into the settings much since it's not my device.

Simply set it up for my parents so they can watch on emby as well.

Any solutions for this problem yet?

Hi, can you attach an Emby Server log of an example from the 4.2.1 version? Thanks !

Try setting their bitrate limit in the app to 20Mb.

Had to drop it down to 5mb, but that fixed it (and anything lower), thanks! Has it something to do with slow internet speeds?

@@Luke, guess it no longer requires the server log? If you still want it let me know I'll upload it for you.
