Would it be possible to add an iOS external network player launch option?

Example:

I am browsing my Emby collection on my iPad and when I select a movie that I would have an option to launch said movie on a Kodi/Emby player on my network on a different device.

Hi there, we already have this. Have you tried clicking the cast icon in the upper right hand corner of the app?

I have tried that but that seems to be transcoding to my playback device. It is very choppy (my NAS is not powerful at all). I was hoping for a direct stream.

Unless I am missing a setting I could not find any options to prevent the transcoding for casting to another network device.

What did you cast to?

Well I spent all morning playing with this and found a few things that I never realized before why I was having problems. All seemed to be user (me) errors.

I guess the Shields default to Chromecast unless DLNA is turned on in Kodi/MrMC. Chromecast is worthless. Turned on DLNA and the Shield playback was flawless. I did notice that there is no screen artwork shown on the Shield when in DLNA, unlike Chromecast, but that is not even worth it if DLNA works perfectly.

HTPC was not an issue on default settings. Works perfectly.

Thank you so much for pointing this out. Never knew that casting could be used for that.
