Jammi3D 8
Hi I've searched the forum and tried the advice previous members have posted but I still can't get Emby Theatre to start. All was working ok, nothing had changed on my previous windows 7 build ... after Emby threatre would'nt start I decided to do a clean install of windows 10 and all was working ok. Now I have the same issue after a few weeks I will click the Emby icon to start the programme, the icon shows on the taskbar aswell as in the task manager but nothing else happens, just shows my desktop. Any ideas? theater-63692750235.txt

Jammi3D 8
Hi there, is windows fully up to date? have you tried rebooting your machine? Fully upto date mate and rebooted multiple times. Have reinstalled the GPU drivers tonight (uninstalled with ddu) but still won't start I can access my emby server and playback is ok via browser (also none of my user have any problems although they are using Android)
Luke 37112
Ok I would try installing the latest version from the website on top of your existing version. You may want to reboot your machine before trying that. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Jammi3D 8
Are there any entries in windows event viewer about it? These match the times when trying to open emby, I'm running as admin if it's any use with no limits on the account. Unless do you think it could be an issue with cloudflare? ... I've added this recently so all traffic is via https. Luke 37112
I suppose you could try that. I can't see how Cloudfare would matter as this is just about launching the app
jmccl069 7
Had the same problem... Ended up uninstalling Emby Theater & Visual C Redistributable...Emby Theater reinstall didn’t work...When I uninstalled both and reinstalled Emby Theater from the website everything started working again...Had to reconfigure though... Darktree 2
So I think I had the same problem where all of a sudden Emby Theater would not connect to the Server and then starting to hang when attempting to connect to the server. The problem, for me at least, was that Emby Server was suddenly using IPV6, and Theater could no longer find the server. I disabled IPV6 on network card and all back to normal. Now I don't know if Server was updated or a MS Patch enabled IPV6, but it happened without me doing anything.
Jammi3D 8
thanks for the info guys, have tried both and still the same I think my only option is a fresh install and monitor what changes/updates are made before Emby fails to start.

Solution Jammi3D 8 Posted May 13, 2019 Author Solution Share Posted May 13, 2019 (edited) Problem sorted, I thought I'd have another crack at this before reinstalling windows. GPU switched to onboard graphics (intel) still failed to start Switched back to my 1030 and latest drivers again failed to start Everything was upto date Only thing I'd not reinstalled was network drivers Tried reinstalling latest network driver but no luck, tried an older driver and also disabling ipv6 and all is working ok. Cheers all for the help Edited May 13, 2019 by Jammi3D
