thesnappysneezer 2
Last night I replied to a thread about a similar issue from my phone as I couldn't quite make it to my computer and I could not provide all information as needed. Basically most files I try to play from my PC are coming through with lines through them, especially in motion. Even the ones that look best have all the edges messed up. I get this both on a brand new Apple TV 4K and a Roku 3 and when playing in Emby on my iphone and my pc. I do not get this when I use Plex on these devices, or VLC on my PC, but I want to use Emby, not Plex as I prefer Emby's speedy interface and the fact that it instantly plays the next episode in a series when an episode ends plus I like how Emby makes available things not necessarily in the databases they get metadata from, Plex just ignores them.Below is a photo from NewsRadio as seen through Emby on Apple TV, located in my computer as this: Q:\Television\NewsRadio\S01E04 The Crisis.mkv and below is a photo from the same episode as viewed in Plex:I am attaching the logs, I imagine the relative data could be found searching for this around the 22:00 hour last night, but it says I am not permitted to upload the kind of file that the log is. I went ahead and copy and pasted it into a word document, I can't upload it either. I will copy and paste it into a comment to this post : Q:\Television\NewsRadio\S01E04 The Crisis.mkvI will also say this problem is in most things I try to play video wise, this was just the sample one I provided to do a comparison. I will also add that when I play audio files and my apple tv goes to screen saver, music plays for a little while then just stops. That is another issue but I think it is worth noting. thesnappysneezer 2
Well it won't let me copy and paste either. How exactly can I share a log when your board won't let me attach it and won't let me copy and paste it?

thesnappysneezer 2
Okay, I zipped it and it allowed me to upload it. I know it is not your preferred method, but it is the only way your system allows for it. Emby Log.zip
thesnappysneezer 2
Hi, click more reply options and then attach it. Thanks. it said I wasn't allowed to upload this type of file, which was a txt file. It also wouldn't allow a word docx. IT did take a zip. I apologize if I come off any ways frustrated. Luke 37133
Hi there, how does it look when playing in the web app?
thesnappysneezer 2
It looks better right now, better than on the Apple TV, but a little fuzzy in movements. The big problem there is it freezes every few seconds and if it is playing the audio is out of synch. In comparison, Plex plays smoother in a browser, no freezing or syncing issues. I still want to use Emby instead of Plex.
denz 426
with ATV that is exactly how it looks on my screen when there is motion plex and mrmc another app on atv can deinterlace but emby currently can’t I think they are looking at it but everywhere else it should deinterlace. If you are using theatre have you enabled deinterlace in settings

thesnappysneezer 2
Thanks, we are working on improving this. Thank you. I understand that you are working on improving this but what is the loose eta on this? I figure this isn't an overnight thing and I do not believe I am alone in my experiences. Could we expect a patch within a month, or are we looking at sometime in the summer or beyond?
Luke 37133
Hopefully in the coming weeks with the next update to the Apple TV and iOS apps. Thanks.
denz 426
I mean the emby theatre app on windows has deinterlace settings so you can turn it off and on.
maegibbons 1267
On ATV on the shield there should be NO deinterlace issues. You can deinterlace on the shield itself OR use the server to deinterlace. Krs Mark
