Yes, there have been a few cases of this error coming up in the past and no solution ever found.  Most were BD players

@@ciro80 Do you have the latest firmware loaded on your TV?  What model ES is that?  I believe SamES had a TV from that year awhile back, though I seem to recall it may no longer be with us.  Just wondering if it's the same model he had

@@SamES was the D-series app version you modified recently ever uploaded to GitHub?  Maybe ciro80 could try that version

Yes, the ES is long gone.

I haven't published the new version yet, but the changes were minimal.  May be worth trying the existing D-series version anyway just as a test.

Thanks SamES.

I know @@fc7 made some local changes also that fix password logging on, but you haven't gotten that far yet.

If you try the D-series version you would have to set up web services (IIS, etc) and host it yourself.  There is some information on getting version 1.X below the instructions you linked above. That version was actually used by all Orsay models at one time, but was forked to make some changes that the D-series did not support.  It's easy to switch back and forth between 1.x and 2.x if that doesn't help.

If you need any help with that let me know

Are you using Windows?  If so, first you need to load IIS.  Otherwise you will need to load your OS equivalent.

These instructions are pretty good for IIS:

https://www.itnota.com/install-iis-windows/

i using ubuntu.

I will create Virtrual machiene with windows 10,  but I need the package to extract in the root of the site.

You can download a zip all versions from this link, just change the branch before clicking download.

Sorry, all my instructions are pretty much Windows.  I don't know much about web servers and ubuntu

It's not going to work using that method as your firmware is too new. Samsung started blocking installation of "malicious TV Apps" (their words, not mine) after everyone found out how terrible their system security was.

There is another method that works on most D/E/F/H model TVs and Bluray players.

  • Download Emby from GitHub and unzip it on to a USB flash drive, you should end up with a directory called SamsungSmartTV-1.x_Release
  • Turn the TV off, not just in to standby, it must be completely off.
  • Plug the USB drive in.
  • Turn on the TV.
  • If it has worked Emby should appear in SmartHub.

ciro80, Just be aware that this method doesn't actually install the app (which is why it should work) and just sideloads the app from usb.  Meaning you will always need the usb to run Emby

Thanks for the info.  I wasn't aware of that change.  It's interesting that only some users are seeing this error.
