themajm 0
Hi there. So I have some .mkv which seem to have not supported subtitles in it, that's why emby is transcoding and can't direct play. Anyway, this is my issue: transcoding acceleration activated:H.264 (AVC) VAAPI -> H.264 (AVC) VAAPIReason for transcoding:Subtitle format not supportedQnap CPU around 30%Lagging, not possible to watch. transcoding acceleration deactivated:h264 software -> h.264 (AVC) softwareReason for transcoding:Subtitle format not supportedQnap CPU from 60 to 91%no lagg. works fine. So, what should I do now? I would really like to have acceleration activated because it seems to save my CPU (and I pay you money for it...) but when I activate it, some files can't be played with no lagg. I don't like to go and change the settings everytime. What can I do about this issue? Kind regards Edit: I'm on Version 4.0.0.2 Edited January 20, 2019 by themajm

themajm 0
@@Luke Hi and thanks. Can you move this topic into Synology NAS? I was confused yesterday - I have a DS918+ obviously Synology! So, I have three logs for you, from the time I tested it yesterday while writing this post. Thanks! Looking forward to hear from you again :-) peace! 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt Edited January 21, 2019 by themajm
Luke 37113
Hi there, I believe this is not related to hardware acceleration, but rather due to the need to burn in PGS subtitles. This is a very expensive process. Can you try turning the subtitles off? That will help it perform better. Thanks !
