cinergi 0
Hello, I have a few questions regarding the Emby DLNA server for audio files: 1) Is it possible to customize the track display format that's sent to DLNA players? By default, the server only seems to send the track title; is it possible to send, for example, Track # - Title - Artist? I couldn't find an option to configure this but maybe I'm missing something. 2) The server only seems to send artwork that's defined in separate files in the media folders, for example cover.jpg or similar. For media files containing embedded artwork, the embedded artwork is not sent to the DLNA players. Is there some configuration option for this? Thanks! cinergi Edited December 27, 2018 by cinergi
Luke 37114
Hi, for #1, is this because the dlna player isn't displaying that other information? We use dedicated album and artist fields to hold that info. Thanks !
cinergi 0
Yes, my DLNA player (Cambridge Audio CXN) only displays the track name. With the default DLNA server that's included on my Synology NAS, it's possible to specify the display as either Track Title only, Number - Title, or Number - Artist - Title, which I find nice. I was wondering whether the same can be done on Emby. For #2, this is useful when a folder contains a compilation of tracks from various artists and albums. In this case, it would be useful for Emby to send the artwork embedded in each audio file to the DLNA player instead of sending the same image (from folder.jpg) for all files in the folder. -cinergi
Luke 37114
We do support embedded artwork, but what i think is happening is the image files are getting priority, mostly for performance reasons to avoid having to extract. I think this is something we probably need to expand our configuration on. Thanks.
