I noticed it again in what I imagine is a less popular stream. NatGeo Wild. I did notice it freezing more frequently as time went on. It was clear for nearly an hour until the first freeze, happened again in the second hour (maybe 30/45 minutes after the first), and several times in the third hour. I pm'd Luke the stream url.

Yes, the iptv streams get interrupted, IPTV is a little hokey...    But I agree with a few posts here, other clients seem to ride through these issues, where emby tends to pause for a really long time, and sometimes totally boot you out to the guide.   VLC does play fine, or rather rides through the short iptv glitch.

Was having lots of issues tonight with buffering and streams freezing up completely tonight. Tried dropping the quality to force a transcode and the behaviour still persisted. Added VLC as a external player and everything plays back perfect with not buffering.

I was looking at my ffmpeg log when using VLC and it seems like there are periodic errors receiving the IPTV which is able to be corrected for. When I look at the logs playing via exo I don't see these same errors and recoveries.

You hit the nail on the head exo doesn't recover very well. And it may be by design and there is nothing Emby can do about it except change players.

Actually the latest exo has a retry() function we can call when it quits due to errors. It's something we are looking at incorporating. Thanks.

I tested your stream for over four hours today and could never get it to error out on me so not sure if it will make a difference, but please try the beta 1.6.68 to see if there is any improvement here.

got it. Travel channel is a good test.

 

That's the one I played today for over 4 hours but it never produced an error.

Can't test it yet as the update has not applied. But I do have one IPTV source that commonly freezes.
