ClemFandango 12
I've got a Synology DS116 and I've just installed emby to give it a try - I added the package source into the package installer as per instructions and then installed and ran emby without an issue. Once i'd gone through the setup, this is what I do next - i've chosen my "Thriller" movie folder on my drive as it's only got 3 movies in it, so i can test it out relatively quickly. click 'add media library' click 'show advanced settings' set type to 'movies' leave display name as 'movies' click '+' to add a folder and select "/volume1/video/Thriller" check 'enable real time monitoring' check 'themoviedb' as the main metadata downloader choose '30 days' for automatic refresh leave image fetchers as they are check 'download images in advance' uncheck any subtitle options hit 'ok' and .. nothing .. it scans the folder and i'm left with 3 films with each one having a default screengrab from the movie. if i click on the 'movies' tab and choose 'refresh metadata' and choose 'search for missing metadata' and check 'replace existing images' - nothing if i click on an individual movie, let's say in this instance, "Jackie Brown" and click the 3 dots and choose "Identity" i can enter the search terms and even enter the ID code for the film from either of the sites and - nothing. nothing is returned. i'd be keen to know what exactly i'm doing wrong ? ClemFandango 12
Interestingly, I've just installed and set up emby locally on my PC and added the same 'Thriller' folder from my NAS and it's scanned and identified everything perfectly,. complete with all relevant metadata. I would expect the above behaviour, as the issue was with the Synology package. Best - James
