Make find subtitles in SUBS folder, meta in META folder next to the video file(s)

As the title says I would LOVE to see that Emby is capable of finding subtitle files in a subs folder.

This is in my opinion by far the "most standard" way of saving sub titles.

I have a series where every episode has subtitles in a subs folder and Emby doesn't find them.

Same with meta data. Would be nice to have them all store clean in a meta folder next to the video file (only if option "save next to video files on).

These two options could be in the "Create library" dialog and maybe by default OFF so nobody gets harassed by this new wonderful features.

A clean example:

\Videos

\Videos\ABC

\Videos\ABC\subs\<all supported subtitle files>

\Videos\ABC\meta\<all kind of images and NFO file>

\Videos\ABC\ABC.mkv

A messy example (how it is now)

\Videos

\Videos\ABC

\Videos\ABC\<all supported subtitle files>

\Videos\ABC\<all kind of images and NFO file>

\Videos\ABC\ABC.mkv

Let's say the movie is called "ABC"

E:\Videos

E:\Videos\ABC

E:\Videos\ABC\subs\ABC.idx

E:\Videos\ABC\subs\ABC.sub

E:\Videos\ABC\ABC.mkv

This is how most of the applications read subtitle files. They are next to the video file in a folder called "subs".

This is the absolute standard.

It's amazing we've gone all these years and nobody has ever requested this. That makes me wonder how many people would actually use this.

Many many people in my opinion.

I like to have clean directories and a subs folder is the beginning of everything.

It's already a mess with the meta files (nfo and images) which are next to the video files (and yes I want it like this so I can edit them).

A \meta and \subs folder would clean up directories a LOT.

An option for this in the "create library" dialog with "default OFF" would be so so nice.

A good managed video library needs a nicely created folder structure in my opinion.

\Videos

\Videos\ABC

\Videos\ABC\subs\<all supported subtitle files>

\Videos\ABC\meta\<all kind of images and NFO file>

\Videos\ABC\ABC.mkv
