JeremyG 20
I'm about to switch all my devices from FireTV devices to Roku's, but I've read some conflicting information about Roku on this forum. Is the Emby App going to continue to work on Roku for the forseeable future? Or is it going to stop working in January 2019?
Jdiesel 1114
It will continue working past 2019. You are thinking of the third party app Blue Neon which is based on the old Roku sdk which will stop working next year and can currently no longer be updated on the app store by the developer. dcook 265
Well it may not be going anywhere but its also not working. The official app has not been working since June 20th and it seems no one at Emby knows how to fix it.

The issue you are encountering appears to be very limited in the number of people it is affecting. We are working on trying find out what it is but, without being able to reproduce it across several different systems ourselves - we just haven't tracked it down YET. dcook 265
@@speechles told you in the other thread how to reproduce the issue. All you need to do is install Emby Version: 3.0.84 that is the one that has the issue, the issue started on June 20th It has been confirmed to exist using Roku Premiere+ and also Roku Ultra That is not really true. JeremyG 20
Thanks all! I was hoping that's the case! As for problems with apps...this is what i hate about "the modern app paradigm". Problems/Bugs happen, but with with "apps", it's very difficult to help users "roll-back" easily.
Fejjie 0
Ah, we moved house end of June and have a new Broadband provider, I've sopent hours trying to figure out what had happened....
zape 2
Too make this harder for the Emby guys this began (at least for many of us) with a Roku firmware update... not even an Emby update. I rolled my firmware back, and it fixed it... then they rolled out an even newer version and I can't go back anymore. It is something which seems to primarily target the Roku TVs, which again is making it a debugging challenge for the Emby dev team as they are not able to test with a machine experiencing the same symptoms.
